1. So totally just got freaked out cause I was at work and doing Google searches (you know, like you do) and decided to search for "Camp Orkila" and "flute" just to see what would come up. And lo and behold, about the 7th search result down, was my LJ! Yeah, it's like when I was on the phone with Maddie and Googled myself and found my address and parents' names. I guess cause I'm an "adult" now and pay taxes and work and all that jazz, people can find me easier. Scary! At least (obviously) when my LJ came up, it was only the entries that are open for the public to read!
2. This guy came into work today and bought something, saying he was part of the Symphony. So we got to talking and had totally nerdy conversations about music, it was so cool! We were talking about symphony halls, good symphonies (he had just been to San Fran and was unimpressed by both the hall and the symphony, which was surprising cause they are supposed to be really good!), and good horn/brass sections, which you HAVE to have in Mahler (the symphony he saw). Oh, I heart horn solis! ;-) Anyways, it was cool cause I brought up the LSO and it was actually a really interesting conversation. That's why I love hanging out with musicians. I can get really excited and into discussions about music, something I'm VERY passionate about, and they think it's just as cool as I do. Now, how to do that more with band people without all the drama...well, I'm working on it, I'm just going to remove the drama between band people and me...HAHA yeah right!
3. Speaking of drama, I was watching Star Wars Episode III extras last night (like I do!) and the producer, Rick McCallum (sp?) commented that, "Drama is conflict, which leads to violence of some sort or another." That is totally true, even if the violence is just talk behind someone else's back. Interesting...
4. I'm really enjoying the book, The Historian, by Emma K (Cat, this is when you pay attention!). Maddie recommended it to me and at first I was a little skeptical, but it's turned out to be really awesome. Because I love history, it is really interesting, even though I don't know a lot about Eastern Europe. I was a little wary at first, because the back of the book talked about vampires, and I thought I had picked up the wrong book. But actually, the way I would describe it, is like The DaVinci Code, with all the history and clues and suspense and stuff, but instead of being about Jesus and Mary Magdalene, it's about Vlad the Impaler and vampires. Actually a rather intriguing book. Don't read it when you're alone in the house though, late at night. From personal experience, I'll tell you it's rather creepy that way.
5. Speaking of creepy, I had a nightmare this morning that I was kind of mugged. I was walking late along 15th and a bunch of guys came by, being kind of harrassing, but whatever, it seemed harmless. They left and I started walking away faster, and then this one guy started running after me. I began to run away and I heard Remy's voice shouting my name! I began to run to her, but first the guy caught up to me and put a knife to my throat and warned me to never hit him again (I guess I had jokingly punched him in the shoulder or something). But then Remy jumped on him and attacked him for me, holding him down and I grabbed the knife and held it to his throat. We got away safely and he was more scared than anything, but still. Not a pleasant way to wake up. I'd almost prefer that dream when Trevor's mom and I were fighting, then bonding about her son. Actually, if I had to choose, I'd choose neither. But thanks Remy, I owe you dream cookies or something! :-)
6. I'm getting really excited to leave for camp, but not so excited about the extreme lack of contact I'm going to have with everyone, especially Becca. Kay and I never end up talking consistently over the summer, cause she's so hard to get a hold of, but Becca and I talk AT LEAST once a day, if not more. Weird. I think I get emails though, so that'll be good!
7. Oh yeah, and Starbucks is getting rid of their raspberry syrup! and replacing it with...wait for it, JUICY raspberry syrup. WTF!? Also, if you have time, go on the Starbucks Australia website and click on Favourite Beverages. Theirs sound really yummy!
