Sup, Seattle? I like Seattle, it's a nice place to be...it even was nice and didn't rain on me very much this weekend, when I was having to walk back and forth between two hotels. I'm up here at Norwescon, spent the weekend helping bossman by running this t-shirt table while he took care of Sakuracon. It wasn't a con I'd heard of before, but it looked like it would've been a lot of fun to attend instead of work - there were lots of panels I would've enjoyed, I think. Unfortunately, I didn't get to do a whole lot unless it fell outside dealer's room hours, since I was working it solo. I did get to meet up with
dameruth,
aibhinn and
canaana (and possibly others I simply didn't connect with particular lj accounts), which was fun, as they were all great people. They had a superbly nerdy room party Friday with delicious baked goods, and I invaded the next evening to watch The Impossible Astronaut. I need to watch it again to form more opinions past "WOO DOCTOR WHO IS BACK ON TELEVISION", but I enjoyed it. God damn you, Moffat, and your scary things. Yes, I thought they were scary, okay, I know I'm a wuss.
Alas, that I didn't get to see much of Seattle. As usual, I visit cities for an event, and don't see much of them outside of that event. I'm okay with this, though I'm really excited about going over to Atlanta next month to attend TimeGate and visit with
notusachan (oops, I almost used her Twitter username). We're going to a MUSEUM! And baking cupcakes. And there will also be a water gun fight. I know, I know, you're all jealous.
The semester's nearly over and I'm still feeling around for a bakery job so I can get my three semesters of work experience out of the way. I've got a couple people who've given me suggestions/leads, and have applied at a bunch of grocery stores around, but nothing yet. I've got time - til June, if I want to start the first semester of it this summer. I've already registered for the class, so we'll see if I have to drop it or not. It would be nice if I didn't, as I only have a few more courses left to take besides those three semesters, which obviously can't overlap. Think positive thoughts for me!
Tomorrow's a long day - most of it's taken up with travelling, and then I have my evening cake decorating class. Ugh, no time even to take a nap in between, thanks to the two-hour time difference. Then Tuesday I planned to go to Arkansas before class to steal
die_monster for a long weekend! I hope I can keep the rest of May fairly easygoing, I have a lot of sewing projects for myself and others that I'd like to work on. Every time I finish one thing, I have new ideas popping up. Attending this con and seeing all the gorgeous costumes of all time periods, fantasy and realistic, has put my brain into overdrive. Dangerous! I want to get creative, but I won't allow myself to start anything new until I finish the projects currently littering my sewing table. *cracks knuckles* Well, then, back to work.
