As part of National Poetry Writing Month, I will be writing 30 poems in 30 days. I will try to write one each day, but if I miss a day or two, I will catch up on later days. Sometimes I will be following prompts; while other days will come from my own ideas.
I based this poem on
the prompt from NaPoWriMo.net, which was to take a short poem and write a counterpoint to it by rewriting it replacing words with words that have the opposite meaning. I chose an e.e. cummings poem, which worked surprisingly well.
[love is more thicker than forget]
BY E. E. CUMMINGS
love is more thicker than forget
more thinner than recall
more seldom than a wave is wet
more frequent than to fail
it is most mad and moonly
and less it shall unbe
than all the sea which only
is deeper than the sea
love is less always than to win
less never than alive
less bigger than the least begin
less littler than forgive
it is most sane and sunly
and more it cannot die
than all the sky which only
is higher than the sky
[hate is less thin than remember]
BY ALYCE WILSON
hate is less thin than remember
less thicker than obliterate
less common than a line is arid
less sporadic than to triumph
it is least sane and sunly
and more it shall be
than nothing the sky which together
is emptier than the sky
hate is more never than to fail
more always than deceased
more tinier than the most end
more bigger than accuse
it is least mad and moonly
and less it can survive
than none the sea which together
is lower than the sea
