First Time at Dave and Busters

May 05, 2011 09:59

Last weekend, we attended a special Otakon meeting, a staff get-together for staff in the Philadelphia area. Small, informal regional meetings been a tradition every April for several years now. This time, it was organized by one of the people who headed Gofer Ops in 2010, someone who once worked under me as a Gofer when I was a lieutenant in Registration. I finally got a chance to upload the photos.

Also, if you're interested, I wrote a short story based on the experience.

(NOTE: Just because I don't use a name for someone doesn't mean I don't know who they are. I just haven't developed nicknames for everyone I know, since I tend to reserve them for those who get repeat mentions.)

We met at Dave and Busters for the April meeting/get-together
for Philadelphia area staff. And yes, that's
a converted pool table we're sitting around!

Despite getting over a head cold, our Kung Fu Panda
was in great spirits.
He loves to meet new people.

I tried to get everyone who was there, so I took this second shot,
but I might have missed some folks.

One staffer showed off her origami skills
by fashioning hats out of napkins.

This staffer is wearing an origami napkin hat
and a napkin beard.

KFP warms up to the staffer
who planned the meeting.

KFP is quite the ladies' man, as you can tell
from the fact that they tend to gather around him.

One of KFP's Otakon friends, the Plushie.

The Gryphon plays a driving game.

An overall view of the arcade
and some of its colorful games.

Moral:
You know it's not a serious meeting when you meet in a video arcade.
