I feel like I should be writing something.

I was invited to stay at Vera's parent's family and tourist house. We took a ride share from the south side of Milan to some dodgy petrol station complete with a hooker somewhere near Pisa. Her dad picked us up and took us to their place for Tuscan cheese, wine and prosciutto.

It was delicious.

In the morning we lazed around the pool and Vera's mum showed me all the vegetables and fruits she had growing in the back yard. Then we took the car to Pisa to see the leaning tower and to eat the lunch that we had brought with us. After this we took a road trip to La California to meet Vera's friend Felix and the three of us went to the beach!

In Windsor I could go to the beach every day, but here in Milan I am land locked. I lived up to my Aussie heritage bolting topless into the Adriatic Sea. I really needed it. So refreshing!!

After this we had a little dinner party at Felix's house to celebrate his birthday. He had been roasting beef since 9 in the morning. The wine that Vera had selected was fantastic and everything that we ate had been grown within 5kms of Felix's house.

It was a really nice little group. Everyone spoke some english but funnily enough the girl who I spoke to the most did not speak any. In the morning we left back to Lucca and had an al fresco lunch with Vera's parents before heading into Florence. Vera gave me a tour of the city which was very nice but a bit smelly. Apparently it smells less than Italy's other cities, like Rome.

We headed back to Pisa in the evening to attend a party for a girl who had just completed her PhD in microbiology. I was very impressed and tbh I had forgotten that people can actually finish PhDs.
