Fortieth Incantation

Hmph. Why this goddamn school finds its curses amusing is beyond me. Talking like a bloody idiot, of all things. You'd think it'd WANT people to pass their NEWTs without distraction, but apparently that's too much to ask for. Seven years of this castle's nonsense and I'm STILL not accustomed to it.

At least a good portion of my classes have been ( Read more... )

classes, n.e.w.t.s, lessons, fuck fuck fuckity fuck, ahiru, post-event

I'm really really really really really really really really really really sorry about all the names I called you and the nasty weird terrible things I said the past couple days!

I really didn't---I wouldn't---I'mreallysorry!

It's fine, dummy. Everyone was cursing like that. Myself excluded.

That works. It'd probably be preferable to have it outside, so meet me by the lake, alright?

...Okay. I'm still sorry though. What a nasty way to talk...

Oh, outside! Sure, we can meet out by the lake!

I'll meet you there then.

In person

*Waiting by the lake, armed with his wand, the dark haired male cast his gaze towards the Hogwarts grounds, looking for any sign on the redhead. He still wasn't 100% sure about this, but he WAS sure that Ahiru could stand to learn to defend herself. And he was positive that he wanted to be the one to teach her*

*While she was eager to get lessons from Fakir, the Hufflepuff girl felt like she still wanted to apologize another dozen times for the way she had acted and the horrible words she had said recently - but she knew that wouldn't help anything. With that thought in mind, she quickened her previously-languid steps, breaking out into a trot as she exited the castle and approached the lake. Fakir understood, after all. He'd probably find the apologies more annoying, than anything.

Spotting his dark-haired form, she cracked a small smile, picking up her pace a little more and bouncing up to the Slytherin boy's side*

Okay, Fakir! I'm ready!

*He raised an eyebrow at her eagerness, nodding once before removing his wand from his pocket* Huh. I certainly hope so.

*He eyed the Hufflepuff girl critically for a long moment before he spoke* ...Before we begin, how well do you know how to perform a shield charm?

*She looked up at him, digging in her pocket for her wand* Well... I think I can do one that's okay, but it's nothing powerful enough to fend off heavy stuff.

*Still rooting through the robe pocket, she paled a little when all her hand met was empty material - she hadn't forgotten her wand, had she!? Oh no, that would be a really bad way to start this session off! Forcing a smile onto her face, she continued to search the clearly empty pocket, trying not to panic. She could have sworn that she brought it! Why wasn't it---oh.

The redhead plunged her other hand into the opposite pocket, pulling out her wand with a sheepish grin toward her instructor*

*See that face? That was not an amused face. Ahiru's apparent search for her wand was not encouraging, and he couldn't prevent the vague nagging in the back of his head that she wasn't taking this as serious as she should* Hmph. Don't be so careless, idiot.

*He wordlessly took a few steps backwards to widen the distance between them, keeping his wand hand at his side* Before you can learn anything about attacking, it's obviously important to know how to defend yourself. Hence why I ask about the shield charm.

*Without sparing a moment or warning her, his wand instantly pointed towards her, flicking his wrist while speaking* Expelliarmus!

WHOA! *Completely unprepared for the spell, she only managed to lift both of her arms in some form of spontaneous protection from the oncoming spell - which succeeded in pulling her wand from her hand and sending the object flying into the air*

*...As expected. Releasing a short sigh, he looked up at the Hufflepuff girl* ...I wasn't telling you about shield charms for my health. Be more prepared next time.

*Mentally calling out a levitation charm, he silently caused her wand to lift from where it had fallen and hover in front of her, waiting for her to take it*

*She was already letting him down... that wasn't good. After all, Fakir was taking time to teach her. If she wore out his patience this quickly, that would be a problem.

Biting her lip to hold in any apologies that wanted to release, the redhead took the airborne wand and held it out in front of her, taking a preparatory breath as she stood at the ready.

She had to make this worth his time as well as hers*

*Watching her with his own wand raised to eye level, he studied her stance critically. She appeared ready, certainly, but...

He suddenly shifted his wand towards her legs and mentally called out a spell: Locomotor Mortis*
