And what exactly is your proof to that?

That we're being manipulated? Only observation, Draco. Tom was taken fifty years ago - if the world were truly damaged as the letter claims, we'd surely have noticed by now.

Not necessarily. It obviously depends on what kind of damage they're actually implying.

If it's to the structure of reality itself, we certainly wouldn't notice right away - wouldn't know how - but after so much time, there must be some kind of effect we could see. And the damage would have been compounded when Narcissa and then Lily were taken.

Doesn't the fact that both of them are absolutely mental account for anything?

I don't believe so. People don't need Luceti for that, I'm afraid. And I'd filter that bit, if I were you.

I don't feel the need to filter something I think is true. I also don't think the fact that we're here from different time lines is enough proof to know our home isn't really being damaged.

Well, if you've already mentioned it I suppose there isn't much point.

You're certainly entitled to think so, Draco. I still wouldn't pass through the portal, though. There's even less proof that they're being honest, and there's no telling what might happen.

Exactly my point.

I'm not going to throw the idea out entirely. It's still something to potentially consider.

If nothing else, I suggest waiting until someone else tries it.

I'm planning on throwing something through. May well tell us nothing, but it can't hurt.

...what, like tying something to the end of a string and seeing what it brings back?

Basically, yes.

And who's to say that's going to work either?

You should have filtered it.

Should have, but I didn't. I have other things on my mind at the moment.

Funny, so do I. I was going to talk to you about them, but I don't know that I'll bother now.
