(no subject)
alright! i haven't updated in a while, so let me back up a month. lol
Exactly a month ago Michelle and I went up to the church to meet the other teens to drive up to the Word of Life Island. We left in the morning and got there in the afternoon/early evening. Pretty much every day was this: get up, go to breakfast, go to the morning meeting, have quiet time, an activity between the red (we were red, and we ended up losing lol) and blue teams, and then lunch. After lunch we had until dinner to do whatever we wanted. After dinner was the night service and some more free time and then devotions with the s in our cabin.
Monday afternoon Jen, Michelle C., and I played games all afternoon with other players coming and going. Sooooo fun, played Uno and Catch Phrase a lot. THey all got me hooked on catch phrase. :) Tuesday Michelle and I had TI, and played "A Mighty Fortress" as a duet. I think that was the best time out of the 3 times we played it. Probably helped that 5 million people weren't watching us. lol Wednesday, we saw Amanda S, who just came back from her missions trip. Wednesday night was also the campfire service, and I dedicated my life to God that night. Thursday afternoon was the Awards Ceremony- Michelle and I didn't place and I was a little disappointed, but oh well! Friday- I guess we just hung out? lol i can't remember. Then Saturday morning we left.
I looooooved that camp. It really was amazing I ended up going. It must have been God. I really wanted to go to CreationEast *a Christian music festival* with my uncle and Carla, which was the same time as the word of life camp. And my parents wanted me to go to the camp, because Michelle really wanted to go and to do TI, and she isn't really one to want to go to a bunch of camps. And Jen also really wanted us both to come, since it was her last year. So, anyway, Carla made my decision easy and said she wasn't going to go (didn't really wanna go if she wasn't going to go), so i went to Word of Life. So much happened there. I talked to Jen a few times- she's such an encourager!-and I grew closer to the s at church. So, very glad I ended up going! lol :)
Every year, basically, MIchelle and I stay with our grandparents during Family Camp at another Christian camp called Delta Lake Bible Conference Center. It's our tradition since we were little! Saturday morning our grandparents picked us up from Word of Life. It was such a different atmosphere than we had been in the week before. There were probably 50-75 teens there, as opposed to 500. And they didn't scream or stand on the benches during the singing. We were with our grandparents a little over a week.
Then Tuesday we came home, and our grandparents stayed with us for a week. Wednesday MIchelle and I went to the s Bible Study and to youth group. Right after the Bible study we were invited to the Landgrens house after youth group, so I called my mom and she said we could go! lol it was fun! i loveeee my friends!
Friday, Michelle, Michelle, Leeann, Jen, Alysa, Nicole, and I went mini-golfing. I think i lost- unless the rules are reversed, and the person with the most hits wins! lol oh well! it was fun though, and that's what counts! Then i had an orthodontist appointment and got my color changed back to teal. haha Should be getting my braces off somewhere around December/January, assuming I wear my elastics.
Sunday I went to Brown University to take a weeklong mini-course in Intro to Clinical Pyschology. THe people there were really nice, and i loved how you could smile at almost anyone, and they'd smile back! lol anyway, i had class MOnday-Friday from 9-12. We were able to shop on Thayer Street and at the Providence Place mall. The class consisted of lectures, movies, quizzes, and readings for homework- lots of reading. lol I passed all of the quizzes! lol, though one was very close to not passing. Kristen was in my class and we had fun making fun of the reading and procrastinating it. lol Good times with her. My roommate's name was Christa, and she was nice.
Saturday I got back from Brown and in the afernoon, Leeann and I went to Barnes & Noble to work on the honors component work. We both worked on Spanish. Then Sunday, the Plumbs took me to church and back since my parents had to take Michelle to Brown. It was soooooo good to see all of my special church friends. They're so missable lol-if that made sense!
Then today...wow, lol- was the first day of Drivers Ed. I'm taking it with Leeann, Sylvia, and Kellie. I met Britney; she's seems really sweet. I also met Lindsay and Tom, who I think are Christians, so that was cool! They also seem really nice. Then the instructor- lol his humor made the class more interesting than it would be. We watched a few movies too. It was okay, not the most interesting, but we'll survive!
Okay! i think that is definitely long enough!
