hey guys!
yay...government's gone- like frank sinatra (haha gotta love switchfoot). That is, except for the mid-term.
Well, Friday was our last long long rehearsal. I was stand partners with Analiese that day. And I was next to Carla with her cello (or chellie as the conductor says). Lol that was fun. Laughed half the rehearsal with her.
Our conductor was so great/cool. He was Japanese and made all these "yahoo" remarks. lol it was great. And he wasn't that young either. He also compared our emotionless playing to a headless chicken going around saying "help me" in a monotone voice. lol actually that makes almost no sense now, maybe I got it mixed up. Anyhow, he also was talking to the person playing the triangle. And asked the kid if he'd kissed a yet. The conductor compared hitting the triangle to kissing. Needless to say, the boy was bright red.
Then Saturday we met at the school at 10:45, but of course, I was late. Wasn't later than some people though. We arrived at Mechanics Hall and had some down time before it was the orchestra's turn to rehearse a bit on stage.
I misplaced the tickets for my family. I talked to one of the school music directors first, and he said I'd have to talk to someone else. Then I went to the Administrative Office. After I told the guy, he said "Uh ho, you're in trouble" and kinda laughed at the same time, but not a mean laugh. lol At least he wasn't mean about it! And then he said I'd have to go find so-and-so. Good thing I knew him (so-and-so) from elsewhere! Because he just gave me the 3 trouble-causing tickets.
Then some of the kids from our school went to Coney Island, which was the first time I'd been there. Didn't get anything though. Then we stopped at Dunkin Donuts! lol I love that place...esp with their chocolate chip muffins. :)
Went back to the Hall and had some more down time.
For the concert I ended up having a stand all to myself, due to space issues. During the concert, Carla and I poked each other with our bow or bow hand a few times. And I bonked Sylvia in the head with the tip of the bow a few times. Later, she said she'd almost burst out laughing. lol
well love you all!
