current events...
I know we are all discussing our own worlds in these journals. but I would like to take the time to remind you that in our world right now, millions of people are dying needlessly.
War. Famine. AIDS. Cancer. Tsunami. The earth is litterally swallowing us up.
And for some reason I feel the need to remind you all that this is OUR world.
I can't say that I haven't been known to be one of those kids that hates life and hates the world and whatever. But I also see here a need to be grateful.
I am trully grateful for the fact that I can just do simple things like hold a pencil or a fork, or walk on my own two legs. Or talk, and listen, to the people that I love. Some people, and not necessarily underprivlaged or foreign people, do not even have those simple freedoms.
Appreciate your friends. They don't have to be your friends.
Appreciate your family...even though they do have to be your family.
Appreciate YOURSELF for who YOU ARE and who you can BECOME.
Appreciate your oppurtunities to become.
Please open up your eyes.
