"Shoujo", written by "Kokuhaku" author Minato Kanae, will be getting a film adaptation. Honda Tsubasa and Yamamoto Mizuki are set to star.
Minato's 2009 work "Kokuhaku" won the 6th bookshop grand prix. "Shoujo" was announced as next work. The story follows two high school girls who want to see someone die.
Honda is set to play Yuki, a second year high school students that has a grandmother suffering from dementia and harbors hatred. Yamamoto is set to play Yuki's close friend Atsuko, a bullied girl who hyperventilates when faced with malicious people. The story will be told from each of their view points.
Mishima Yukiko, best known for "Shiawase no Pan" and "Budou no Namida", will be directing.
"Shoujo" will be released in Autumn 2016.
