Kis-my-ft2 member Fujigaya Taisuke is set to star in the live action drama adaptation of "Mars", set to air in January on NTV.
The shoujo manga, "Mars", was originally serialized in Kodansha's "Bessatsu Friend". In 2004, it was made into a drama in Taiwan.
Kashino Rei is a motorcycle racer who dreams of becoming a professional racer. He's popular with many people. Despite that, he has two sides to himself. He's also shut his heart following the death of his younger brother. On the other hand, heroine Aso Kira is introverted and an artist. Kira and Rei both suffer from past trauma.
Fujigaya made his acting debut in 1999's "Kowai Nichiyoubi Tomodachi no J-kun" that aired on Nippon TV. In 2011, he starred alongside his fellow group member Tamamori Yuta in TBS's "Ikemen desu ne".
Since then, Kis-my-ft2 began variety program "Kisumai BUSAIKU!?" on Fuji TV. Despite a midnight timeslot, the program has a strong 7% viewership rating. Fujigaya has also starred in 2014's "Kamen Teacher" and has a role in the stage play "TAKE FIVE". He's also won the "Best Jeanist Award" two consecutive years, this year and in 2014.
