V6 member Okada Junichi will be challenging Mt Everest in "Kamisami no Itadaki". This is the first time that a Japanese film has been used as the shooting location for a film. Okada said "I look forward to the harsh shooting. I want to experience it firmly."

The plot of the film centers around two men who are fascinated by Mt Everest.

Following Okada's win in Japan's Academy Award as Best Actor in "Eien 0" and best supporting actor in "Higurashino-ki", he is well received as an actor. For this work, he'll be playing a man named Fukamachi Makoto, a mountain photographer who challenged Mt Everest after finding an old camera in Nepal.

Abe Hiroshi is set to play Habu Joji, a man with talent but is isolated because of his self righteous way of life. Ono Machiko has been cast as Kishi Ryoko.

Shooting preparations for the film have already begun with Everest and Nepal shooting beginning March. Over a shooting period of 4 months, each cast member is expected to shoot the film at an altitude of 6000m after previous altitude acclimatization.

The movie "Everest - The Summit of the Gods" (Everest -Kamigami no Itadaki) will be released in 2016.
