i didn't disappear i promise

Is is March already?  What happened to February?  What happened to me?  Wow.

I have been busy.  It wasn't my intention to skip out on updating for the rest of February.  Life just got carried away.

My filming went well.  I'm pretty pleased with the final product.  I wound up casting two wonderful actresses in the roles of the sisters.  They were great.  It was a blessing to work with such talented girls.  They really made the film good.  My friend Kelly helped DP (ie camera, lights, angles, and all the techy jazz my brain likes to forget about).  Editing was overwhelming.  But I stuck it through and finished the film.  I got some good critique from my classmates and instructors.  Don't have my grade yet.  I'll probably go back and edit some more, fixing what they suggested, before I send the actor's their copies.

No I have a week off before I pitch my next story.  That one will be fun.  It has to be based off of, or stem from, a metaphor that we wrote about at the beginning of the semester.  My metaphor was a fledgling bird about to take flight.  I'm toying with the idea of a silent film this time around.  I'm also gonna do my best to avoid shooting in our apartment.  Tearing it apart for two weeks in a row is not my idea of a good time.

Aside from filming, I also started my internship.  Finally.  I work for Tollin Productions.  They produce the TV shows Smallville and One Tree Hill.  They also produced such movies as Dreamer and Wild Hogs.  Their big project at the moment is a reality tv series called Slamball which is basically about basketball on trampolines.

I spend two days a week at the Tollin office, which is actually in a house in Studio City.  The house used to be owned by Xena Warrior Princess - Lucy Lawless herself.  It's a gorgeous house.  Gina, my supervisor, and I gush about how nice it would be to live there.

Fridays I trek out to Warner Bros and work at the Smallville Production office.  This Friday was my first day.  Eight hours of nothingness.  The office is just getting off the ground again after the strike.  The computer I was at didn't have internet.  So I spent my day reading this seasons scripts, comic books, smallville magazines, and playing solitaire, occasionally interrupted to go pick up someone's lunch or restock the paper in the copy room.  I was promised that next week will be much more fun.  It was kinda cool to overhear some of the discussions the writers were having, very interesting to see how they go about putting together stories for a season, story arcs, payoffs, what villians to bring in next.  Very cool.

Today my friends and I had planned on going to the beach, but after a gloriously warm week, we are awarded with chilly 50 degree temps and cloudy skies.  Very sad.  We are trying to figure out what to do with ourselves now.  Maybe a trip to Beverly Center Mall.  We are trying to avoid spending money.  We are poor.

What else can I tell you... i don't know.

I'm missing the peeps back home, super sad that I don't get to go see Fiddler.  I know it's going to be amazing.  I only have 61 days left here in LA!!!!!  Don't want to think about this ending though, so I'm not.

I'm gonna be 25 in 23 days.  Funny how I don't feel that old.  Maybe not so funny.

Maybe this is getting off track.  I'll end it here and go warm my toesies in some cozy socks.

Ciao!
