Jealousy.

May 10, 2009 02:29

Clark froze inside the doorway.

Davis Bloome.

Davis Bloome was in Chloe's apartment.

They were looking a little too friendly, and like they were about to sit down and have dinner together.

What the hell is this guy doing here?

As he asked himself the question, he realized he was jealous. He was jealous, but couldn't quite admit it.

He was secretly pleased when Davis left, but then ended up hurt by Chloe's words.

"He's kind, supportive, and a strong shoulder for me to lean on, which I don't know if you've actually realized, but I could really use right now."

He'd given her space.

All he'd wanted to do was give her space, as her marriage to Jimmy had ended. Because that's what he thought she wanted. That, and he was afraid he'd blurt out the truth.

But no, it wasn't, and in his absence, she'd been cuddling up to the creepy paramedic.

"Look, it's just I have a bad feeling about the guy. I mean, come on, Chloe."

He tried to reason with her, to explain that there was something off about the guy, but she wouldn't hear of it.

"Don't 'Chloe' me, Clark. What is it with this whole 'meet me out in the back for a duel' mentality?"

Even she could sense his jealousy.

She clearly just didn't understand the source of it.

[ooc: Obviously for Eternal. There's apparently a series of these, and Instinct!Clark won't be happy till I write them all. :p]
