Now, I know many of us are still reeling from this most recent flood, but I have some unattended business to look into: namely, the curious acquisition of powers which I experienced a little over a week ago. [Crane shrugs, doing the IDK thing with his hands. You can still see the zero-ness behind him.] You may not believe me, but I wasn't involved in that one. If I had the means to do that, I wouldn't be simply fear gassing the dining hall.

[She looks a bit misty-eyed for a moment, before snapping out of it] Well, you could accomplish just about anything you wanted.

The problem is, [He switches to a more attentive tone.] that you could accomplish whatever you want at the expense of others. Which from our current position, is not particularly encouraging.

Are you referring to the fact that the powers seem to have been borrowed from other inmates? Because that fact does serve as an... impediment.

That, as well as the fact that while other inmates gain powers, we gain nothing. Which leaves us vulnerable to their attacks.

I have never before felt at a disadvantage for being merely human. While novel, it's not an experience I enjoy.

Perhaps you're right. These powers do appear to have drawbacks. Namely a certain lack of control.
