[There is a yell, then someone bangs furiously on a door. If you're on the third floor, you may hear the entire thing first-hand. The voice is gruff, frustrated, and just the tiniest bit desperate; she's kept her American accent, so if you know any of our resident RDJs it probably sounds pretty darned familiar.]

Let me in. Let. me. in. This really ( Read more... )

[Sherlock!Irene, now dressed in normal, modern clothes, is trying to look as unobtrusive as possible in the stacks while simultaneously scanning the library to see if s/he recognizes anyone - or, more importantly, if there's anyone around who could recognize him/her]

Not that either of them will recognize the other... chicagoshope July 13 2010, 23:28:30 UTC
*Harry had gone to the library to see if he could find a text on what the hell happened, cause animals are one thing, but turning into one's half-brother who has never been seen by the admiral is a little too suspicious. Therefore he's searching fruitlessly when he sees Sherlock!Irene.*

Looking for something?

XD That's so true. always_thewoman July 14 2010, 00:02:21 UTC
[She glances over at the man, then peeks back through the books at the various people making their way about the library. It's made her a bit squirrelly, this whole body-change thing]

Avoiding, I think, is more apt.

Poor Irene. lol chicagoshope July 14 2010, 00:07:14 UTC
*he moves a book to discreetly peer through as well.*

Is the library really the best place to hide, then?

Haha, she's totally in denial about how important he was to her. always_thewoman July 14 2010, 00:20:25 UTC
Perhaps not, but I seem to have been barred from my chambers.

[Her expression is black; she mutters something unintelligible under her breath that probably contains the words 'archangel' and 'murder'. Coming to herself, she asks -]

What are you doing, by the by? This doesn't seem a very good time for a bit of light reading.

To be fair, he'd probably be the same way were it the other way around. chicagoshope July 14 2010, 00:49:43 UTC
Ah, no, actually. I was hit by this flood. Came here to see if maybe they had a text that would explain something. So far, nothing. Which I guess would have been obvious if I'd given it some thought.

Don't have a friend's room you can hide in?

Oh. [She blinks at him, only just noticing that he's mimicked her spying-through-bookshelves technique, and smiles slightly] I work here, and have yet to find a volume on the matter of these floods. I hear they're conducting research in the lab, but - [She rolls her eyes] I really doubt it'll do much good.

[She sighs] I tried. Ten minutes later I found myself booted out into the hallway. Gabriel's thorough, I'll give him that.

Maybe someone just has yet to write one. *he smooths his hair back to keep it out of his eyes, a frustrating action* There are some interesting books here though. I think I'll be spending quite a bit of time here when I'm not... *gestures vaguely at himself*

*it's clear when he finally realizes who she is, but really mentioning Gabriel is the most clear clue she could have given* Do you think he's covered every room?

Perhaps [she allows] As for the library, I'm fond of it as well. It's quiet, civilized - one of the few places of its kind here. [She unconsciously runs a fond hand over the spine of a book]

It's possible. Then again, the room I tried belonged to my closest friend; he could've predicted I'd go there. [She shrugs] I haven't yet tried any others. It's been a bit difficult, you see, recognizing people when they're in this state. Speaking of, are you - do we know each other?

*he can really empathize with that, as much of his life as been involved with books*

We met during the animal flood. I'm Harry Dresden.

I have no friendly icons. Just two shouty ones, a lineface, and a suspicious one XD always_thewoman July 14 2010, 01:29:14 UTC
[She sighs, but there's a wry smile there, too] Mr. Dresden. We really must stop meeting like this. At this rate, I'll never have a clue what you actually look like.

lol Yaye! I broke someone's expectations of necessary icons! \o/ chicagoshope July 14 2010, 01:44:27 UTC
*he grins, probably oblivious to how pretty Thomas's face makes him right now. 8| (getting lost staring at these icons, man)* I could say the same to you, ma'am. Maybe we should plan a day to meet up and talk so we can fix that.

[She grins back at him - he IS pretty (White Collar is one big Bomer-fest) - and raises an eyebrow.]

Thursday? Assuming the flood's over by then. I'm usually not this... [she gestures wordlessly at herself, then, wrinkling her nose and rubbing a hand across her liberally-stubbled chin]

Well, scruffy, for one. How do you stand feeling like this? It's hideous.

*(Who's complaining though, really?) he scratches absently at his own chin, which is mostly smooth despite him not shaving this morning. Damn Thomas and his natural good looks*

It feels different depending on how you take care of it.

[(Certainly not I) She rolls her eyes, letting out a little huff of breath]

God willing, I won't be in this body long enough to have to figure that sort of thing out.

*chuckles*

Amen. Though if I stay in this body long enough to see Thomas get scruffy I'm finding a way to get a picture.
