... This is new.

[[Irene got a dose of nanomites. This particular brand is giving her electrical powers, which - considering she's from a time before the Industrial Revolution - she's taking as some sort of magical energy. [Irene's eating, probably somewhere off towards the corner of the cafeteria, because something obviously weird is going on, and her first instinct is to keep to herself.

She's trying to look innocuous and eat as quickly as she can while still being neat, but every time her knife and fork accidentally touch as she eats, there's the buzz of electricity. Oh, and her hair is hugely fluffy, trying to make an escape from its coiffure, and from time to time a tiny spark or two can be seen crawling along a curl.]

[Elle was wandering around trying to stave off boredom when she arrived in the cafeteria and saw a woman sitting by herself. She might be a way to pass the time, and the occasional spark she saw coming from her silverware was very interesting.]

"Try putting a little wrist action into it," [she advised, sitting down across from the woman and twisting her own wrist to produce a ball of electricity above her palm.]

[Irene frowned slightly at the woman who'd sat down across from her. She wasn't one to take unsolicited advice well. Then again, it did seem that Elle had a strong grasp on her... whatever it was she had. After a moment of hesitation, Irene followed suit. She was a bit clumsier and so the ball of electricity was looser, but it was still better than conducting sparks with her flatware.]

"... Interesting." [She looked quizzically at Elle] "I take it this is a normal thing, for you?"

"I'm not normal," [Elle said lightly, giving her head an almost imperceptible shake.] "But this does come naturally to me."

[Irene noted Elle's assertion with a small nod.]

"I don't doubt that it poses its share of problems, a gift like this, but I do think it could be rather useful if applied properly."

[Mentally, Irene was already weighing the possibilities of using her new skill for a bit of personal gain.]

"You have no idea," [Elle agreed with a smirk. She closed her hand and extinguished the sparks.] "If you had the full power, no restrictions, you could do pretty much anything you wanted."
