Would you rather lose yourself to keep other people safe, or stay as yourself but put other people in danger?

... [A soft hum and he leans back further, eyes still trailed very much on the brooding boy.

And then a chuckle. Low but definitely ominous - ominous and sinister.]

An utmost pity that there is so much potential here that I shall be unable to witness neither birth nor destruction. Hahahahaha! Then indeed, without doubt, you are already a complete demon. One who discards their humanity, regardless of purpose or reason, cannot be seen as a human by fellow humans. You do not lead humans. You try to protect humans, but you ultimately only reign over demons - as you rightfully should.

Then struggle hard, Abel. Protect the fearful, the scattered, and the thankless sheeps, and lead the feared, the unquestioning, and the merciless demons. Perhaps the utter incompatibility of your actions and your wish shall obliterate you whole - or perhaps you shall miraculously see this through. Regardless of the outcome... [The smile widens.] Continue on this path, shepherd - surely you already intend to. [He almost seems to be congratulating you - maye he is.

The intentions, however, were less than stellar. Were it to happen, your breaking will be glorious -- and would Naoya realize then how much he's lied to himself, as well? Will the foolish Cain shatter as well, once his little brother completely crumbles away under the unspeakable weight of this impossible ideal?

It is something beautiful that he looks very much forward to even when he knew it to be impossible. But that does not matter. Go on, Kiyoshi. You're on the right road.]

Of course I intend to.

As for humans seeing me as a demon... if that's what it takes for them to stay out of this war, all the better.

Much of this situation seems 'impossible', but so do some of the things I've already accomplished.

[So were some of the things that Gilgamesh accomplished, but he's... not going to bring that up. :| ]

[Chuckle.] Rather short-sighted, aren't you? [They - humans - will not protest during the war. Not if their own safety is threatened - even less if the enemy threatens their existence as well. But even beyond what Arturia Pendragon tried to accomplish - you are striking at God, an entity that still held great influence and hence power over the very ones that you wished to protect. This is why your protection will be ungratefully received. This is why you will be feared and hated. This is how the very ones you tried to save will betray you and turn on you. Because they do not understand the freedom that you are offering them, the dim-witted fools. And a great portion of them never will. They will rebel, they will despise you, but out your love for them, you will try to reassure them - until they strike at you.

You will eventually be driven to defend yourself out of principles alone, and later on, restrict them by force for their own good unless they destroy themselves with their own hands. After all, this is why humans have fallen so low. Out of your love, you will try to subdue them, but because you will try to subdue them by force because they will not listen to your words, they shall hate you even more. And this - will loop, over and over again, they will hate you the more you love them - until their ignorance swallows you whole.

No human can be this patient. No human can lay their hands down doing nothing while others continuously spit at them words of hatred. No human can be this kind to stay unaffected if they receive such treatments. That is why - it is imperative that you discard your humanity as soon as possible. You will only snap faster if you do not.

And where would that then lead you then? A demon lord with a gentle heart, but considered to be a despicable being by all other humans. Your demon subjects shall be loyal to you, but what will they think, they who feasted upon the emotions of men? You can only hope that you shall still have the demons' unconditional obedience; the humans shall already be more than enough trouble for you.

This is why the path that you have chosen is an impossible one. An ideal that will bear no reward. A sacrifice that will not be admired. A good deed that shall never be seen as anything but hateful.

The day that you will finally break and tear out the throats of the very idiotic sheeps you once herded and tried to protect will be a magnificent one. That - is what he sees when he looks at you.

But he'll hold his tongue now. You're a simple boy with simple wishes but great powers. Even if he wasted his breath, odds are that you will not understand. Besides, his defeat might have straightened him a little, but that did not change the fact that he still found priceless and beautiful those who chase after the impossible - and shall be annihilated from their very core once they realize the futility of their actions. This impossibility is a different brand. He did not question the capacity of Kiyoshi's powers - he questioned man's will and your inevitable breakdown for trying to become a saint while killing god.

So for now, he'll just leisurely smile. Eerie and foreboding, but please, don't worry too much about that.] Then do: for what they are worth in your world, you have my blessings, Abel.

Hm. [He nods to himself.] You will be watched.

[And with one last glance that may make you feel somewhat uncomfortable, he hangs up. ...Hahaha help or not you can't deny that his reasoning is not something that you want to understand. At all. :D;;;]
