[As a child, A had never been too fond of Christmas. It seemed a bit pointless, and the nuns at her first orphanage always made it so serious and boring

[Teru's not smiling, in his dreams. They're full of shadows, emptiness following him, Kira, who pulls him close to show a fire in the palm of his hand. For some reason Kira doesn't look like Yagami Light in this dream, he's taller and darker and his face isn't quite clear, and he licks Teru's cheek and presses the burning hand to his throat and that's when Teru wakes up, with a start.]

...Angela?

[A's still sleeping in the living room, so she doesn't hear Teru call out her name. But she does wake up, still a little fuzzy, and she wanders into their room sleepily.]

Morning...
[She notices that he looks...upset, sweaty. That gets her up immediately and shes right by his side in an instant.]

Teru, are you ok...? What happened?

[righteous_pen]

Just - dreams. It's nothing.

[Nothing he doesn't dream about a lot, anyway.]

Why were you sleeping in there?

[always_ashes]

Do you wanna talk about it....?

[She smiles a little bit.]
I was up late wrapping some things, I didn't want to wake you up.

[He shakes his head, then realises:] Christmas? ...I forgot.

[She nods and smiles a little.]

It's ok. I'd be more surprised if you remembered, with all that's going on right now...
I got you a present.

[Her smile grows a little at that. She really wants to give her gift to him.]

[He sits up, putting on his glasses.]

I'll get dressed first, just a moment.

[He needs a painkiller, as well. It's been a long night and his arm aches.]

Lemme go get you some water and the painkillers, ok?

[Before Teru gets a chance to respond, A is off, coming back about ten minutes later with a water and the painkillers, as promised. She also comes back with a large snowman cookie.]

Eat this first. You shouldn't take those on an empty stomach.

[righteous_pen]

[He's managed to more-or-less dress, in the meantime, although his shirt isn't fastened. He takes the cookie.]

Thank you. Did you make this?

Yep. Last night, before I did wrapping...I thought you needed the sleep, so I went out.

Hope you like it...
[She smiles and hands him the cookie and pill, putting the water down on the nightstand.]

[He nods, taking a bite of the cookie.]

It's good.

[A little sweet for him, but he doesn't mind.]

I don't have a gift for you.

[always_ashes]

It's ok.
[And it really is. She just smiles and hands him the water.]

Being with you is enough. And you getting better would be the best gift I could think of.

...I wish I could give that.

[He takes the pill.]

We can go to the wish room and I'll ask for something.

You will...eventually, you will.

[She shakes her head and smiles a little.]

You don't have to do that...
Lemme go get your present, I hope you like it...

But I want to. You should have something.

I'll wait. [He sits back.]

I already have something very special.
[She smiles and kisses his cheek quickly, before hurrying off to the other room. She returns a few minutes later with a small box, wrapped in silver paper, which she nervously hands to Teru.]
