She blanches back, shaking at the sight, but points into the inner room. A letter, her Lady's necklace, and the kitten - oh, that poor little creature.
"My Lord, Lady Shelley. She is gone, someone has - there is a letter, I have not touched it."
Even in this state she remembers, never touch evidence.
Someone had taken her, then. Storming into the room, he glanced at the table with the device and the letter. Memorizing their location, he picked up the letter and began to read it. Fury building as he did so.
It was a ransom note.
They had taken his lady, and left a ransom note. Blood pounded in Ishamael's ears as his hands tore into the letter. He would get her back. He was smarter and stronger than whoever had taken her. He would not be defied! With a vicious snarl, He tore the letter to shreds only dimly aware of the sound of ripping cloth and flesh.
After following her master into the room, Loira paused in the door as he picked up the note. Perhaps she should let him alone right now, but if he needs anything...
Then, everything is over very, very quickly. Perhaps it was best for her that she didn't even get a chance to scream.
It was the sharp metallic smell of blood that brought Ishamael around from his reverie. Glancing about he saw the pieces of Loira's corpse. Muscles, ligaments, bones strewn about haphazardly. How unfortunate.
It was very difficult to find trustworthy maids.
Lifting the edge of his cape, he stepped around the visceral mess and pulled up the console.
