(no subject)

another date with a potential. just to be reaffirmed of everything i already knew. further refinement of strategy is a given. but in what direction? let's examine the evidence.

1) the mark replied, when fielded a question regarding the subject (me), that adrian is a 'nice guy' the infamous kiss of death. from this point the conclusion is forgone, but how did we get here?

2) conversation - touched on family, life experiences, pyschology, and expectations of the opposite sex. obviously all off-limit subjects with someone for a first, second, even third date. this was undoubtedly the principal downfall, but further analysis might be educational.

3) body language - making certain to always achieve eye contact, keeping the hands within sight, and sitting straight with shoulders out chest inflated. few errors here, with the exception of walking behind her. this is a habit i can't break, as i walk slowly and enjoy my surroundings. her walking at my pace is asking too much, so clearly my gait must increase.

4) confidence - at times i was underconfident, uncertain about leaning too close or making leg contact, and at times too confident, placing both hands on her hips and whispering in her ear. the inconsistency is probably what's worse. be bold or be shy, but either way, make up my fucking mind.

5) flattering - my compliments were limited and based on intangible elements like intelligence and randomness, as opposed to the obvious physical traits i should be glorifying. if a woman spends twenty minutes putting on makeup, it is my responsibility to note it before noting the moment of wit which required only twenty seconds on her part and a but of genuinity.

stopping there.

in my political thought class, we've been discussing Plato and the Republic. evidently, our professor believes it to be a satire, and constantly drops us hints that the reader should not believe what they are reading, at least not entirely. i asked him if this was anything like The Prince, by Macchiavelli, in which the author paints a portrait of all the attributes necessary to be a powerful and just ruler, all the while secretly juxtaposing this position with his other writings which declared those attributes evidence of a true tyrant. he said i would have to discover that connection for myself.
