gelato is yum

Rome is a crazy city. Yesterday we walked around and ate at this restaurant that looked like a tiny room in an alley, but once you walked in thru the back it opened into a million rooms. They took us to this place all the way in the back with an open roof and gave us champagne and a 3 course meal, I've never eaten like that in my life.

Today a couple of us walked all through the area east of the Centro and across the Tiber. We found our way to the Piazza Navona and WOW, being there makes you realize pictures cant do justice to these places. Hundreds of years old buildings, huge fountains and obelisks, tons of colors and people. We walked in and an old man was playing The Godfather theme on an accordian. After walking around we sat and ate some weird sorbet thing. This older man unpacks a classical guitar (left handed might I add) and starts playing these great Italian style old music. Then all of the sudden he breaks out into this awesome twist of stairway to heaven. weird as hell.

So we start following some alleyways from there and BOOM there's the Pantheon at the end of a few narrow streets. Probably the most incredible/overwhelming building i've ever been in. the dome is basically indescribable and un-captureable-on-film. Then tonight met a few other kids who got here early and ate and gelato'd and such. I just wish I could be in contact more with people from home. The time difference shouldn't make so many people disappear!
