On Friday, something interesting happened: I proved to myself that, no matter what happens, I'm still from Evanston. I went to put on a blue shirt, looked at it, at suddenly felt really weird with it on. It only hit me five or ten minutes later: I was wearing blue and green - and on a Friday, too. And it didn't feel right.
There's also something else about proving to myself that morphology is real and that d-structure exists, but that's another story. Here's the short of it, though: "82" is now a 0-derived noun rather than a determiner/adjective in my lexicon. It's still a number (D/A), but when in reference to the bus that is numbered "82" on campus, it has been derived into a noun. One that, I might add, has no Japanese equivalent other than エーティ・ツ.
Eli out.
