Phoenix Post: Miss Lupin

Sep 23, 2005 14:10

My dear Miss Lupin,

How wonderful to receive your letter- doubly wonderful, because the mice decided to file it under a piece of stilton in their Fort. Is it possible that there was a trace of jam on the parchment? At all events, they find you too sweet to resist. I am sorry to have missed your visit.

I am most impressed with your command of written English, and with your interest in the local fauna, both wild and domestic. I wonder which we would call your stepfather.

Fawkes is delivering this to you himself, with instructions to wait and pass an hour with you if you are not at home when he arrives. Please do not be offended if he does not join you in any of the treats you offer him. He is terribly fussy, but he has a good heart.

My best to your parents, and to you, dear girl, the devotion of my heart.

Your humble servant,
A. Dumbledore
