Of spas and money and steam-punk, oh my!
The spa today was a MUCH better day than Monday. In that I did not want to jump off of any high structure at the end of the shift. Tips were pretty lame, as I think I had maybe 20 customers, tops. But, I was able to sit back, and think about how much less I hate this Juice Bar gig than Joanns. Cause seriously. It boils down to taking one day at a time and finding a certain... zen when dealing with the rushes that nearly crushed me so on Monday. I think I went in expecting that again, and that partly helped me today. Not that I needed that, as it was much quieter, with only a mild lunch time flock, but it did indeed help as far as getting in the right frame of mind to tackle things on my own. The only kind of sucky thing today was I had to stay a bit later than I would have had to otherwise, as there was going to be a return inspection from the Health Inspector and I had to make sure EVERYTHING was clean and in its place and labeled with dates and spotless. Not that I minded.
My Dad said that when he gets back from Mass (where he is hanging out with his Dad and sister, etc and also recouping from surgery) he is going to have a mechanic friend of his look at my piece of shit car and possibly fix it. Actually replacing the broken things when new, non-broken things, as to make it work better than it currently does. Which is little to none. I know the starter is dead and I'm pretty sure we were having issues with the alternator before the car decided to die completely. So that'll be amazing. I'll finally (at least) be able to drive myself to work. And possibly to Fee's house to learn how to sew.
Which is another thing. Phil has been getting into the steampunk~Neo-Victorian thing and in his doing so, and getting James kind of delving into it as well, I've decided this is something I, too, and interested in. If I can have Fee help me with learning to sew up some dang nifty costumes/cloths, I can make me some Neo-Victorian apparel. And for others too. And I could probably also make cosplays for people, commission stuff and make a little extra money. But more importantly make stuff for myself. And people I like enough to make things for. You know who you are, muahaha.
Oh, and I just realized tomorrow is pay day! Joanns AND the spa. Though, the Spa is every week so yey money. I'm going to be putting all the spa money (excluding tips of course) in my savings for a new car and things, and us most of the Joanns checks to pay bills. A good system if I do say so. At least this way, I'll be putting money away each week instead of almost never.
I am pretty tired, and I still have to take the effing trash out before I sleep, so for now, peace.
