Because when you're corpo-rats who spend most of their worktime on assuring their management and each other that their job is actually productive in something more than PP presentations, stacks of printed paper and egos while wearing suits, means you're high-tier proffesionals and you're entitled to suit-wearing money, because your time is valuable. Which is proven by you making money, of course. And if it makes money, it's respectable, and thus deserving money.

Meanwhile, if your job keeps the society running or at least limping on, but makes no money, means you're on a holy mission, and missions are not to be tainted by associations with dirty things, like money. The same money that is an uplifting and gloryfing factor when in the business context, somehow. So it's the same non-logic as in high-tier jobs, just working opposite. It's just an elaborate moral blackmail tangled with double standards, and secured with the bucket-of-crabs mentality, because people who protest for their rights one day, ridicule and belittle protests of others next days, even if we still talk about jobs only. After all, it's not that corpo-rats aren't genuinely overworked and honestly exhausted as all of us, it's just that their job is artificial but paid relatively well, while non-artificial jobs are done by people who either have no feasible other options or get their living income elsewhere, effectively paying for doing their job rather than being paid.
