The final scenes were some of the best scenes in the entire show. I'm so glad Fred got what he deserved, and the way it was done - by the women his system taught to kill evel men - was poetic. I love how "no man's land" turned out to be "women's land". How Fred proved he deserved it with every word he said ("I'm a man, I have rights!"). The chains in the van, the gun ("I know you can't shoot me." "All right"), the chase - he even fell like June did when she was chased in the very first episode - the words on the wall, Nick and Lawrence, the song. The finger. The entire show is a warning for passive people - don't let particular ideas spread or you can end up in a place like Gilead - but now it's also a warning for people who actively support them: you can't be sure they won't come back to you and bite you. "If you didn't want us to create an army, you shouldn't have given us uniforms."
