the night started off fairly well considering we didn’t have to wait 45 minutes for a cab or even have to pay for a cab. we took the bus instead, following this group of obviously drunk retarded girls wearing t-shirts in about 45-50 degree weather. the bus ride was comical when the girls started getting loud requesting everyone who was going to the concert to raise their hands. no one did despite about half the bus going to the concert. they also didn’t know when to get off so they asked if someone could let them know and the bus driver said he would tell us.
drunk girl “you’re awesome!”
bus driver “you’re drunk!”
whole bus [laughter ensues]
we get to the arena with ease and i get my fried dough…even though it costs $4. i haven’t had it in a while. my chemical romance opened up for them. i like them….or did. they suck live. i tried to give them benefit of the doubt saying it was the sound, but sadly no. they just suck. but at least no one was sitting in front of us…until it came time for green day. these high school girls sit in front of us and are just really annoying. i understand that it’s a concert and you want to stand, but when noone else is, just sit down, you’re blocking my damn view. and don’t grab your friends arm to dance along with them when they’re standing 3 seats away, especially when it looks like your friend doesn’t want you doing that. but despite the horrible opening act and the annoying girls, who i just wanted to push or kick or jump, green day was awesome. billy joe is quite the energetic little man. he never stopped running around, evan says he probably did a line of coke (sp? whatever, that’s how it sounds…like the soda, cause you know it used to contain that stuff). the most awesome thing they did was give 3 people a chance to be the new green day. one person from the crowd to each play the drums, bass, and guitar. the drummer was awesome...just plain awesome. the bass player was a little chunky, but good. and the guitarist was a lucky little ‘bastard’ (as billy liked to call him). he got to keep the guitar. and the drummer was allowed to do a stage dive…i hope no one took his sticks. what was really funny was all the people crowd surfing and moshing. stupid kids. the crowd surfers would be pulled away and moved to the back….i’d say about 75 kids got pulled away…probably a lot more….i’m bad at judging…especially for the retarded over-under game that ryan kept trying to play…i still don’t get it. but yea….the concert was good, green day is very good live. and it ended with a good note when they played good riddance (my theme song and quote for everything i do).
we’re something unpredictable, but in the ends it’s right, i hope you had the time of your life.
ps. out of about 15 pictures, only 2 came out good…no 3, including the one of me and ry.
pps. I’m sure ryan’s entry is more detailed than mine.
ppps. don't laugh at the music i'm listening too, it's not my choice, it's the damn radio station i'm listening to. of course i could lie and tell you i'm listening to something else, but i don't want to.
