Rolling up my sleeves

Well, I'm still fighting the last battalion of this annoying cold. It has been 10 days now, and I wish my throat and sinuses would both just clear up completely. Immune system, GO!

This past weekend was one of painting, painting, and more painting. We are working on finishing up Grace's parents' bedroom. Over the past month and a half, we've finished our bathroom, our bedroom, her parents' bathroom and powder room, and now we have ooooone more coat to do on the bedroom. I wanted to have it done today, but it just didn't happen. I will do it tomorrow after school, come hell or high water.

This whole experience has made me a pretty proficient painter, and I'm looking forward to really getting started on our own place this week. At the age of 30, I am being exposed to handyman tasks for the first time to such a significant degree. There's a carpet to be ripped out, a floor to be placed, and walls to be plastered and painted. I'm considering this a necessary education.

Well, time to continue pressing forward.

P.S. I really enjoyed Thor in theatres last week. Loved the larger-than-life story, characters, and drama, and the incredible sound and visuals. I picked up a couple of comics as a result of the movie, and I've sadly been disappointed by the fragmented storytelling. Can't win 'em all.
