...how awesome we fans can be - particular the fanfic writers.
A few days ago, on sgagenrefinders someone asked for 'depressing, beautiful and hopeful fics.' I gave a few recs - the usual ones - click the link and you'll see. But among those I recced was Logopetria by lavvyan. I'd read that one a year or so ago, and it stuck in my head as unusual, totally different, well worth remembering.
I just re-read it. It made me cry. rodney so frustrated by his inability to actually speak, joining John a the shooting range, then the whispered "forfeit." And what happened after that. God. I cried. Tears leaking out of my eyeballs. Then there's the sequel, Eloquence, by taste_is_sweet. Oh man. the last image of that fic, of the box, and the sphere. God. It breaks my heart!
this is why fandom is so awesome. every once in a while, someone produces something that has the POWER to move us: piss us off, make us cry, make us laugh, make us cheer. And what would life or fandom be without those precious people? So thanks ladies, for putting something out there that is guaranteed to leave a mark on the people who read it.
