TWD finale first reaction thoughts - SPOILERS FOR "WELCOME TO THE TOMBS"

Well... there were less deaths of people I cared about than expected. Quite a few less. Not that that's a bad thing. Just unexpected.

If they really want me to buy that Carl's so far gone, they really should have made it more clear that he did "wrong" by shooting the Woodbury guy. They ordered the guy to drop his weapon and not only didn't he stop, he kept walking toward them! In Carl's shoes, I probably would have done the same thing. So I'm not buying Hershel and Rick's reactions. Especially not Rick's. He was a cop. He should trust Carl's instincts there that he perceived a threat and did what he had to do.

I didn't expect the Governor to survive the season so that was a twist. Wonder when he'll show up again and how bad it will be when he does. Him gunning down the Woodbury crew was a real "holy shit" moment for me. Though why his lackey who got in the bed of the truck BEHIND HIM WITH A GUN IN HIS HAND when they drove off didn't take the opportunity to kill him is beyond me. My mother and I counted before the episode started and we came up with 5 times someone had a perfect opportunity to kill him and failed/didn't finish the job. NO ONE KILLS THE GOVERNOR AND I'M SICK OF IT!

Could Andrea take ANY LONGER picking up the pliers and freeing herself from the chair??? She deserved to get bitten after all that. Every time she started to talk to Milton she stopped trying to get the pliers and just acted like she had all the time in the world and she and Milton were having a chat over a cup of tea! Even though I'd pretty much come to loathe her character and viewed her as the height of uselessness, I was still yelling at her to hurry up so I guess I was pulling for her survival to a point. I'm not sad she's dead though, but the reactions of the others to finding her bitten was moving and I did go "aw!" for just a second at her telling Rick she knew how the safety on a gun worked now.

I'm relieved Maggie and Glenn survived. I was worried about them (especially her) since the engagement thing happened.

I loved the little moment outside Wooodbury when Rick said they were coming out and Daryl gave him this LOOK. Ha! Every inch of Daryl's body language was screaming "The shit I do because I trust you, man..." Loved. It.

I wonder how long the Woodbury refugees will survive. That's a lot of extras to have kicking around the prison and a lot of dependent people for the group to care for considering they're almost exclusively children and the elderly or very infirm. That's a lot of mouths to feed and makes the group very ungainly to try to move around quickly.

Happy to have Tyrese and Sasha with the group. Hopefully the show can manage to have more than one black woman at once for awhile since they've never managed to have more than one black man (RIP T-Dog and Oscar).

Hmmm... guess that's it for now.
