This weekend was great. John and I found a kitty abandoned by the old 7up factory. She can't be more than 6wks old. She is adorable. She was coverd in thick coat of fleas, so we quickly got her water and washed her off. It took two baths and lots of shampoo to get most of the fleas off. We had to follow up with a spray, comb and a collar. She is now, happily, flea free. We decided to keep her, jointly. Since I cannot have her here ( moms allergic ) John is keeping her for me. We did run into some problems. She has been having the runs, so I've been giving her Pepto, at the docs advice. She also woke up with the white of her eye completely swollen. We couldnt get ahold of any doctors on Memorial day so we just kept and ever vigilant eye on her. It seems to have gone away, John is still keeping a close eye on it tho. I will pay for food, medical and so forth. She is adorable. And so smart. She immediately picked up the litter box idea. She sleeps well, plays greats and is a generally sweet and laid back girl. I plan to take her in Saturday to get a check up and vaccinations and all that wonderful stuff. I feel like a new mommy -- I kind of am.
I've never had a kitty before. I am sooooo in the dark about what to expect in behavior, milestones and so forth. I have made several home made toys that I hope will promote healthy mental and physical development, get her to think and exercise. She needs to be happy and healthy and stimulated in all avenues. If anyone has any advice let me know what to expect/do.
Isn't she just too precious!!!
