Christmas 2006

Dec 26, 2006 02:23

Christmas went pretty well, although very different from past years. It is very odd to not live with either parent, and have to drive all over town, with presents and stocking stuffers in tow. In past years I'd wake up, walk downstairs, and Christmas would start. This year, however, I had to go 30 miles to my dads, then 20 miles to my moms... the lag time spoils the spirit a little. But I kept my spirits high, despite the tummy troubles later in the evening. I kept having this 'out of body' type feeling all day though, like I was no longer looking through the eyes I used to see the world with, like I was seeing the world from someone elses view. It may just be the mass number of meds I am on, for whatever sickness I cannot get rid of, or it may just be me growing up...

On Christmas eve I had my dad over for dinner, a present unwapping, and a movie. After he went home I went to my mothers to help her finalize some xmas details. When I returned home 7up and I dove into her stocking and played with her new toys.

The Christmas day began at 7 am, preparing to tote presents near and far. I stopped by my mothers first to unload her presents and fill her stocking. I then ventured to my fathers, where we ate the traditional Langdon omlete breakfast and we undid our stockings then unwrapped our presents. When my father and brother began talking about gadets and technical mumbojumbo I took my leave and drove back to my mothers. At my mothers I did more stockings and more preset unwrapping. I also helped my dogs undo thier stockings.

Every year I like to keep track of what I got, so I can refer back for thank you cards - or just to remember what I recieved, and when. So, here is this years list as well as I can remember it : (stars by favorites)
