What a long day!
I had a Sitzprobe (a rehearsal with just soloists and orchestra for a musical) this afternoon for Kismet. I haven't had a sitzprobe since high school and I love them, so that was fun. Then I had to leave that early to go to a Music/Choreography/Blocking rehearsal for Scrooge. Spent about 8 hours at rehearsal today between the two. Then tomorrow, I get to go to work all day, then go to Kismet rehearsal and run the first act.
Why are we running the first act, you might ask? Because we open in A WEEK AND A HALF!!!! HOLY CRAP!!!! Frickin' week and half! Yikes. We haven't even blocked Baubles Bangles and Beads yet! I'm a little frightened. The sitzprobe went well today though, so at least I'm pretty sure that it's going to sound good, even if we don't know where we're going on stage!
I'm so excited for this show though! Not just because it's the biggest role I've ever had, but because everyone is so good. The principle cast is really something to write home about and it's just fun to get up there and sing with them!
So, If anyone is in the area, it should be work the price of a ticket! It's November 3,4,5 and 10,11,12 (5th and 12th are Matinees) at Bay Path College in Longmeadow. Drop me a line if you want ticket info :)
I get beaten twice in the show, if that gives you more incentive to come ;)
