I love musical theater.
So rehearsals started for Chicago and it's *super* fun. I adore the music director, John. He's exactly my age and we have a psychotic amount of things in common. Too bad I'm pretty sure he's gay *sigh*. The man playing Billy Flynn is scary hot... wow. I like to joke about how sexy he is and how that's all waisted on the 17 year old playing Roxie with the director. Now she keeps putting in all this innuendo about a past between Billy and Mama just to play with my head. Crazy Lady.. hehe.
We blocked When You're Good To Mama on Tuesday. Wow. It's um... dirty. Really dirty. Like, think of me when I get most full of innuendo and then quadruple it and that's not really close. Think more, early 90s Madonna. Yeah. *shudder* I think I'll have to tell my Dad to go to the bathroom at that part of the show! Haha. I kept telling Mora (the director) all the people who were going to be there whenever she told me to be sexier. Like, "Umm Mora, you realize that my Dad's coming to this show, right?" and "I think my boss is coming too.... he wanted to bring his 14 year old Daughter..." "Hey Maura, I really wanted my great Aunt and Uncle to come" She just kept laughing. Like some super villain that grew stronger on my embarrassment. I feel like total tool doing the scene, but apparently it doesn't read that way so *shrug* I just keep having to remind myself that it's just a part. I'm sure it won't be too long before I really start having some fun with it :) Until then though, it's just a little eeek.
I'm already dreading the end of this show though... Like, what am I gong to do with myself when it's over??? I'm going to have to find somewhere else to do shows because I can't stop :-D I had forgotten how much I love musical theater! :)
