Sigh...
A year ago at this time, I was packing my bags (or at least procrastinating), preparing for a flight to Orlando the next day.
That trip to Disney World with Jon's mom was probably the best one we've ever had.
We stayed at a cabin in Fort Wilderness, which was completely awesome.
Despite it being kind of cold, gray, and drizzly for the first few days...
...the sun DID eventually come out.
We had a TON of fun that week, too.
We visited our old College Program digs at Chatham Square...
...found the hidden entrance to the Disney-MGM Studios...
...went to the luau at the Polynesian...
...ate turkey legs...
...and Dole Whips...
...and a SINFUL hot-fudge sundae at Ghiradelli's in Downtown Disney...
...got COMPLETELY drenched on Splash Mountain...
...got silly with a gargolye...
...arm-wrestled Mr. Incredible...
...and had breakfast with Mickey and the gang at our old stamping grounds, Restaurantosaurus in Animal Kingdom.
It's so gross and rainy out today, I wish I was there now.
BUT, I'll be there in less than two months, with Jon and my sister. It's going to be an absolute blast. We're staying off-property for the first time ever, in a time-share resort that we're getting through my sister's awesome job. We'll still be close to the parks...right near Celebration, FL, actually.
We've already made dining arrangements at Le Cellier, '50s Prime Time Cafe, Tony's Town Square restaurant, and the Rose & Crown (our absolute FAVORITE place to eat...a definite "can't miss").
We're also going to the Polynesian luau again, which is quickly becoming another "can't miss." You can't beat the all-you-can-eat chicken and ribs, plus FREE BEER! And the show is out-of-this-world amazing, if you like Hawaiian rhythms and hula dancing.
We just made the decision to include Water Parks and More on our passes, so our week should include Pleasure Island (we haven't been there since we were Cast Members), Typhoon Lagoon, and Disney Quest.
You'd think after all the time we've spent in those parks, we wouldn't still be as giddy as little kids over the idea of yet ANOTHER Disney World vacation. But this is like my Christmas. WDW is absolutely my favorite place in the whole world, and I'm already counting the days (especially since I haven't had a real vacation since this time last year).
Eight weeks from tomorrow. Is it here yet??
