It occurred to me suddenly as i was binging on my show, that some actors, particularily British ones, are like the best jazz musicians. They play with syncopation that same way. And tone and flourishes and all the other jazz great touches. Same thing ( Read more... )

You know, I don't think you have to worry about anything unless you are calling for the downfall of the Russian gov or inciting revolts there...

Drag you kicking and screaming along!

I am equally tempted to stay because, well, if LJ loses all outside voices that isnt good for the world either.
If i migrate i'll let you know. You'll be under no obligation to follow, fyi. But i foresee no immediate need for me to shift.

Monday Morning pop-quiz ponderings

Phineas Fogg is knocking on your door ready to whisk you away to the Seven Wonders of the World! Where are you going?
For clarification: Remember, these may be natural or man-made, current or in ruins, in any combination - just need to all be someplace you could go this week (providing Fogg picks up the bill)
What say you?

somewhere that's a long journey, there was a thing on the news this morning because the first ever direct Britain to China train left this morning. It goes through the Channel tunnel and then through 27 separate countries, it's a freight train service to take goods for trading, but still that sounds very romantic. I'll sit on the goods and go across on the train from England to China.

incidentally I went to one of those "Audience with" type interviews on Friday night with Michael Palin being interviewed. It was sponsored by the Jules Verne Travel agency so the goodie bag was Jules Verne pencils, luggage tag, bag, notebook etc. So I'm all set.

Ooo the "cute" one. Heh. How was it? One of the things that has stuck with me about his "around the world" show was his somewhat horrified "americans are large people. Maybe because i've come from asia where i am larger than the norm but...wow. Lots of food here."

It was an entertaining hour and a half, but it did really cover anything the audience didnt already know I don't think. Everybody already knows his career so well and he's reasonably open most of the time anyway, so i don't think he's got any deep dark secrets to talk about. He's got that problem Paul McCartney says he has when the fans know more about the production of the Beatles songs than he does ( ... )

Well there are anti-gay laws so i worry a little about the community but i /suppose/ as long as less than 3 thousand people view the stuff we should be ok.
:/

Come to think of it, i have some coworkers who could prob read the non-translated version if there is a section you're curious about. I wouldnt ask them to read the whole thing cuz our breaks are only 15minutes! Heh.

I wonder how long ohnotheydidnt is going to last because that certainly gets more than 3000 views?

Honestly, I don't think we have anything to worry about. They aren't look at us. Now if I were the ONTD mods, then I'd be concerned...
