photoshop plot

Okay so you've probably heard by now that the singer Meghan Trainer, famous for her earworm hook "all about the bass, no treble", made a video for her new song.  Apparently fans noticed and notified her that her body in the video had been photoshopped skinny.  She (bless her little heart) had the thing pulled and an un-retouched one put up ( Read more... )

Oh, it's more than just photoshopped. You can now animate a face over another face, so if you want to see George Bush giving the 2015 state of the union address, you can see it, in photorealistic detail.

It's weird, isn't it?
I just worry that, as magazines have given body issues to generations, that this will sneak in and make it all far worse. Because no one is talking about it. This was the first I heard of it being done in a video and it made me question the next entire movie. Sneaky freakin bastards! Who thought they'd CGI the bodies to make them more fantasy than reality? the tanks, sure. But the bodies?? And while my old eyes have the experience to stop and go "that waist ain't right" the kids don't have that. Their brains may accept this AS reality. Worries me.
I think I mentioned before that a friend's husband was showing his college age son his old Playboys and the kid was all "How come the girls are all flabby?" and the wife was like, "That's what natural boobs look like." "I'd rather have the plastic." Cuz THAT is what he has grown up looking at. Worries me. Bad trend.

"Even that ACTOR doesn't have that body" should be a phrase.

A very scary concept, but sadly the way of the future. Soon they won't need actors at all. Look at the leaps that Pixar is making. Yeah, movies, not so much anymore.

Yay for Meghan Trainer, though. Good for her!

Yeah, I recall seeing an interview with Chris Evans [the one that plays Captain America] where in the first half of the film before he gets his superpowers he's supposed to be an scrawny, emaciated whelp so he was like "oh okay this is going to be complicated to film" and the production team were like "meh - just act it normal and we'll make you look half-starved later" and so he was like "wow, that'll so revolutionary you can do that" and they were all "you do know we do it like all the time for all the actresses.....it's really not a big deal to add you to the list" They also photoshop make-up on now don't they, it's just a routine thing that happens. Marvel are particularly guilty of this due to having Disney Money.

And yeah I'm sooo with you on the "getting bored of the cgi fighting, when is the acting coming up?" front.

In that movie, Robert Downey Jr. is photoshopped to look younger in the flashback sequence.

It's been possible for a while, actually.

Yeah I get it. Ever since Benjamin Buttons and Avatar. But I fell that is obvious stuff. It's expected and marveled at. Giving women wasp waists in a whole movie when they are just standing there acting is more subtle and destructive. IMHO. I'm sure they enhance the men too and edit out the non-PG bits of the costume. Heh! Cuz damn those tights is/TIGHT/

I'm convinced that the days of real actors are numbered, at least in film.
