I'll be venturing into my first DSLR very soon. And this is plaguing me.

I cannot fucking decide between the Nikon D90 and Canon Rebel t2I.

Any of my photog friends have either? What's your preference? Why?

HELP ME PLEASE. This is a serious problem for me. And yes, money is part of it, with the Canon being so much cheaper.

Oh mah gaaaahd I love the third photo. The colors are superb! I'm getting pretty close to just saying fuck it to Nikon(for the time being) and going Canon. I realized with the money I'd save getting a canon I could get a sweet fish eye lens, which is something I've always wanted and probably some other nifty things.

The funny thing about the printers...my mom's friend(whom I recently had dinner with to discuss this very conundrum), said that her husband's(who is a photographer, she's a graphic artist) advice was that once you choose a product, go all the way with that product, meaning get their printers, ink, paper etc. Now that you're saying their printer's are shit(I'm paraphrasing obviously), I'm not sure about the printer. lol What printer would you recommend to go with the Canon?

I love taking portraits, its part of the reason I want to be a photographer, but it seems like the Canon would do that just fine. In fact the canon I have now(Powershot s5is) does that well. You seem to take very good in the moment photos, just with more movement. :P

Thank you again for the help!

(and sorry for the novel of a response)

I bought a fancy all-in-one printer/scanner copier - the Canon MP270 - and it worked for about 2 days before it suddenly went into permanent error mode. It thinks there's a paper jam, but there isn't - it's impossible to clear the error code even if there's no paper at all in the machine.

Looking around on the web I found I wasn't the only one with this problem. Even Canon's repair service can't fix it, apparently. It seems it's just a rogue fault that crops up with this machine. Maybe other Canon printers are OK, but I've been put off all Canon printers now.

In the end I decided to cut my losses and I bought a cheapo HP Deskjet printer, which is very simple and works perfectly!

lol Of course. I think I'd get just a photo printer, if I do go Canon. I don't need the fanciness of a fax machine.

Thank you :)

Get a Kodak Photo Printer rennegadde August 27 2010, 16:30:11 UTC
Cheap ink, and remember; it's not 'a Canon Moment' or 'a Lexmark Moment' -- it's a KODAK Moment! Trusted for generations! As for brand loyalty/compatibility, with PictBridge standards in-place any PictBridge camera and any PictBridge printer are direct-connectible - brands irrelevant.

Hope this helps!
