Hello Sacramento Livejournalers!
This Valentines Day around the world people will be having demonstrations at Nordstrom's to ask them to stop carrying fur. Los Angelas and San Francisco will both be holding big ones, but since we have a Nordstroms, I figure we should have one too.
So, if you would like to participate, please meet me in front of the Nordstrom's at the Arder Fair Mall on February 14th at noon. If this is not your thing, that is fine, but if you know someone who might be interested, please let them know. There is more information below on this worldwide campaign. You can email me at all4choice@hotmail.com
Anti-Fur Demos To Target Nordstrom
Please join IDA and the International Anti-Fur Coalition for worldwide outreach targeting the cruel, barbaric and unnecessary fur trade. Events are scheduled in Brazil, Canada, France, Ireland, Israel, Uruguay, Venezuela, and the U.S. with more events to be registered soon. During the week leading up to, and including, Valentine’s weekend, IDA is urging you to join us by taking part in our Nordstrom campaign.
We are seeking activists all over the country to conduct education outreach events wherever Nordstrom stores exist. If there aren’t any Nordstrom stores in your area, please use this opportunity to conduct any type of anti-fur outreach activity in your area. This can include leafleting outside any store that sells fur, tabling at a festival and/or passing out leaflets at any busy intersection in your area. The main focus is to take part in a global push to stop the supply and demand for fur which leaves millions upon millions of innocent animals in agony and subject to brutal death each year.
Nordstrom is in a perfect position to make the right choice and stop selling fur. They are still run by the fourth-generation Nordstrom family who has built a reputation of responsibility, and they have already come a long way on the issue of fur. Nordstrom no longer has fur salons in their stores, and removed all fur from their private line. The Nordstrom family loves animals and they refuse to wear fur, so why are they still sullying their good name by selling fur from other designers?
Nordstrom claims their customers demand fur, but from our ongoing education outreach outside their stores, we know better. Nordstrom customers are compassionate or they simply aren’t yet educated about the tremendous suffering involved in even a fur-trimmed coat or accessory.
Help IDA convince Nordstrom to lead the way in compassion and become the first major upscale department store to go totally fur free!
