Summery: Thor knew he had to find a mate, but never in his life did he expect it to be one of the Jotun Cats.

Ch.4 Giving Chase

Thor stared after the man for a split second. He didn’t even have to think about it. He was up and after the Jotun in the same instant. Sure the Jotun had adrenilin on his side, but Thor wasn’t injured, and he was sure he would be able to catch up to him soon.

He glanced up at the sky to see that the sun was starting to set. “Damn,” He cursed. It had taken a lot longer than he had originally thought to get the Jotun out of the trap, and he didn’t have as much time as he had originally hoped. Looked like he was going to lose this round.

“Come here Kitten!” Thor called after the Jotun, “I’m not going to hurt you!”

Up ahead Loki paused and glanced back. His breathing was coming in labored gasps. He was so tiered, all he wanted to do was lay down, but he knew if he stopped he would be caught. With a soft groan he started running again. It hurt worse, and he cursed himself for stopping in the first place.

Thor was exhausted. His feet hurt, his face was drenched in sweat, and he was grumpy. The sky above him was dark-well past twilight-and he was sure by now his friends had gone back to Asgard, thinking he had gone as well. Damn that stupid cat! How the hell had he been able to evade Thor for so long? He was sure by now the Jotun was in sever pain, and slowing down, but Thor had seen nothing of him.

Thor slowed to a walk and sighed. Maybe he should go back home. He was really starting to think that his little chase wasn’t worth it. Shaking his head he huffed and started running again. He would not give up. None of the others would be able to claim a Jotun as their prize.

He didn’t know how long he jogged when he finally caught the Jotun’s scent again. Sweet, and heavy in the air. It threatened to take hold of him again, but he shook of the urge and followed his nose till he came to a large stream.

Favor was on his side, for the wind was blowing towards him, making it imposible for the Jotun to know of his presence. He made sure to stay in the brush, and out of sight as he watched the Jotun.

It looked like he had just stopped. He was breathing heavily his hands clutching his sides. His tail hung limp behind him, and his foot was slightly elevated. From where he hid he could tell the foot was badly swollen and the skin around the wounds were red, and sore. The Jotun hobbled over to the stream, and gingerly sat down. Slowly he pulled off his shredded boot, and examined the wound. He winced softly before running a hand over it.

“Damn,” he cursed.

Loki sighed and slowly slipped the foot into the stream. At first the water stung a bit, but soon it started to sooth it. He needed to regain some of his strength back so he could heal himself properly.

He glanced down at the running water and watched in mild fascination as the water around the wound tingles a light pink. The water washed away all the dirt, and grime around the wound but Loki would actually have to go and clean the inside. Not something he was looking forward to.

Sighing again he sat up straighter and undid the belt on his tunic and tossed it a ways away. Then he pulled the gray tunic over his head and tossed it over with his belt. It took him a little longer to get his pants off, because of his wound but soon he was naked and slipping into the cool stream water.

Thor watched the Jotun, his mouth hanging open as he stripped to nothing but his skin. It was like nothing he had ever seen before, and Thor had seen a lot of naked people before. This Jotun was pale, and slim, and seemed to have the right amount of curve, and muscle to his body. Thor’s wolf growled in satisfaction at this, and the man felt confusion fill him. Why was he feeling like this towards a Jotun?

He wanted to look away but his eyes didn’t want to work with him. They were glued to the pale skin of the Jotun.

Loki sighed and relaxed into the water. It wasn’t to cold that uncomfortable and he felt himself starting to doze off. That was until he heard the faintest of snaps. Hie ears perked up and he was looking around. He took a deep breath, but the wind seemed to be against him. He couldn’t smell anything out of the ordinary, but that didn’t make him feel at ease.

He growled softly, and lowered himself into the water. He was far to exposed for his liking, “Come out,” He called into the forest.

Thor knew he had been found. It honestly didn’t matter to him since he was trying to catch the Jotun in the first place, so he stepped out of the brush, putting his hands on his hips and glaring at the Jotun.

“What do you want!” Loki asked, exasperation clear in his tone. “Why can you not leave me in peace? I am not hurting you or any of your people!”

“Why are you even here?!” Thor shouts back. Because he was curious about it. This Jotun had no reason to be in Asgard.

The smaller man flinched and looked away, “That’s none of your business.” He finally said.

“Actually it is.” He retorted

“Oh?”

“Yes! I am the prince of Asgard, and it is my duty to protect my people.” He said puffing his chest out, “So why are you here?”

Loki wanted so badly to tell the other man it was none of his business but that might get him killed, and Loki didn’t have a death wish. Under the waters edge his tail moved back and forth slowly.

“I’m hiding”
