[Part Three]
Morning came far to soon for Loki’s liking, he would have rather stayed dead to the world for a while longer. When his eyes opened rather than seeing the dark wall of the cell, he saw the bright gold of his mother’s hair. His brow crinkled slightly as he stared at it. He had known his mother had been with him last night, but he hadn’t thought she would spend the night.
Slowly Loki sat up and put his hand on his mothers shoulder. She moaned sleepily, but her eyes opened and she looked up at Loki. A small smile formed on her lips, and she pushed herself into a sitting position and wrapped her arms around him.
Loki smiled down at her, and slowly hugged her back.”When?” He asked softly
“When?” she asked tilting her head, “When what?”
“When will it all happen?” He clarified.
“Oh...” Frigga blinked and looked at the cell door. “I do not know. I would assume sometime soon.”
“One would assume.”
Frigga looked at Loki for a long moment before she spoke, “I have to speak with your fath-Odin,” She said, “but I will be back soon.”
Loki nodded, “Alright.”
She stared at Loki for a long minute before she actually pushed herself out of the bed, and walked out of the cell, leaving Loki alone with his thoughts. He didn’t get to pick at them for very long, because the door opened not 10 minutes later emitting Odin, Frigga, Thor, and one of the head healers.
Odin stared at Loki with the same impassive expression he had during the trial. It made Loki want to fidget, or hide from the look, but doing that would only get him into more trouble, so rather than look at Odin, he chose to stare at the wall.
“Loki,” Odin’s voice was soft, but held a silent command in them, “I know you have laid with a woman, but have you ever lain with a man?”
Loki gasped and jerked his head in Odin’s direction. He could feel his face warming, and he swallowed a lump in his throat. After a moment he jerkily shook his head, “No.” He said quietly.
“It will do you no good to lie to me,” Odin warned his voice taking a low and dangerous tone. Loki was suddenly reminded of a wolf pack he had stumbled across during one of his trips. Odin was much like the Alpha wolf when he was dealing with an insubordinate pack member, or an Omega. It sent a shot of annoyance running though him, but it was trampled down but Thor, and Frigga’s reaction.
“Father!” Thor snapped from behind the king, “This is the ‘important question’ you have to ask him?”
Odin glanced back at Thor, “It is important Thor,”
“I fail to see how.” Frigga said as she crossed her arms in front of her chest.
Odin chose to ignore the two, instead looking at Loki, “Well?”
“I am not lying to you.” He said looking away, “I have never lain with a man before.”
Odin stared at him for a long moment before turning to the healer and nodding. Loki stared at the healer his brow arching slightly. He had wondered the nature for which the healer was here, and it seemed he was going to find out.
The healer glanced at Odin unsure for a moment before stepping towards Loki. She bowed slightly-out of habit-before speaking. “Strip please.”
“What?” Loki asked, the blush that he had gotten under control flaring up again.
“WHAT?!” Thor roared at the same time, “Father what is the meaning of this?”
“Odin, why can you not take what Loki has said to be truth?” Frigga questioned taking a step towards Loki.
Odin stared at both for them his eyes narrowing, “Leave,” He commanded, “Both of you.”
“What? You can’t do that!” Thor tired to argue.
Odin gave him a look, and Thor straightened his back suddenly. His eyes hardened, and his lips tightened into a thin angry line. “Fine,” he said tersely before turning and leaving the room.
Odin turned his gaze to his wife, to see her glaring daggers at him. “I will not leave. Especially if you plan on doing what I think you are planning.” She snapped, “You cannot stop me Odin.”
The man glared at Frigga for a long moment before sighing and gesturing for the healer to continue. Frigga walked over to her Loki’s side and grabbed his hand. He looked up at her for a moment, and she did her best to give him a look of encouragement. After a moment he sighed, and began to disrobe.
“Lay down,” The healer said gently.
Loki nodded and laid down flat on the small bed. His mother was sitting at the head of the bed one of his hands grasped tightly in hers. Every once in a while she would run soothing circles over the pale skin, then bring it up to her face, and press a gentle kiss to his knuckle.
For the most part the examination was painless. He hadn’t been lying when he had said he had never lain with a man before, but it seemed Odin wanted to make sure. It was more embarrassing then anything. When the healer and Odin finally left-having finally come to the conclusion that he hadn’t in fact slept with a man-Loki grabbed the blanket and pulled it over his naked body.
Frigga stared at her son for a long moment, tears welling in her eyes. She wanted so badly to comfort him, but on the occasions that he did pull into himself he would pull away at any sign of comfort...he had called it pity. Sighing softly she interlaced her fingers, and leaned back, waiting for him to come back.
Unfortunately he wasn’t given the time. Odin walked back into the room, half an hour later, holding a bundle. He looked at Loki for half a second before turning back to his wide. “Since you seem so intent on coddling him…He needs to get ready. The wedding and binding is soon.’ As he spoke he tossed the bundle he had been holding to the foot of the bed. Frigga reached out and grabbed them, to find they were the traditional wedding clothing. “Make him presentable,” Odin said and then was gone.
Frigga stared after Odin for a long movement before sighing and reaching out for the clothes. After only a slight pause she pulled the blanket down of Loki’s head. His eyes were glazed, and his face slightly flushed. He looked like he was on the verge of tears. Slowly she ran a hand down the side of his face, “Loki?”
“Why is he doing this to me?” He rasped out.
Frigga shook her head, “I don’t know.” She didn’t understand why Odin was going through all these lengths just to make sure Loki stayed out of mischief. Without his magic, it would be much harder to pull pranks on others, though she didn’t doubt he would figure out a way. It just didn’t make any sense. She could have just bound him, and be done with it. Instead he had to drag Thor into this whole mess as well. Again she shook her head, “I have no idea.”
Loki was silent for a long moment before he turned and looked up at his mother, “He has always hated me.” He whispered. When Frigga opened her mouth to speak Loki gave her a look, “You don’t understand.” Slowly he pushed himself into a setting position, and then out of the bed. Frigga watched as he stared to pull on the clothes that had been given to him. “Odin loves you. You are also of Asgard. Me I’m from Jotunheim. A runt...a monster. I have always been an outcast, and that will never cease to be. He was just pretending to love me be. He was my ‘father’ so he had to like me. Now that I’m nothing but a disgrace he can treat me like fucking shit!”
Frigga stared at Loki for a long moment. She wanted to deny what he was saying but it was all true. Odin hadn’t out right said that he hated Loki, but though his actions it spoke clearly. “I’m sorry,” She whispered softly looking down at her feet.
The younger man sighed and shrugged, “It doesn’t matter,” h he said before looking at Frigga.
“But it should.” Frigga insisted.
Loki sighed and looked at her, his green eye’s sad, “But it doesn’t.”
Frigga bit her lower lip, and once again looked down. She couldn’t believe this was happening to her family. It felt like they were being ripped apart, and she hated it. She looked back at Loki and watched as he stared at the wall sadly. Standing she walked over to him, and placed a hand on his arm. He looked at her and gave her a small smile.
“This is not how I envisioned this day to happen,” She whispered after a moment.
Loki smiled sadly and shook his head, “I never pictured this day happening.” He said. He had never thought about marring. He never thought he would find anyone that actually meant that much to him. Nobody had ever sparked his interest besides Thor, and up until know Loki had known it would never work out that way. Now he was going to marry Thor, and he didn’t even really know how he felt about him anymore.
There was a mix of hate, anger, fear, love, and a lot of other things that he didn’t know how to classify when it came to Thor. Thor was his everything, and at the same time his worst enemy. Loki loved Thor, and hated him more than anything. It was complicating, and confusing.
A heavy sigh passed through his lips, and he turned his green eyes to his mother, “I am coming to find that we have to live with the hand that is given to us. Even if we don’t like it, there is nothing we can really do to change it.”
“Loki...”
Loki shook his head and glanced at the door, “We should probably be heading there,” he said holding out his hand for her. After only a moment’s hesitation, Frigga slipped her arm into his, and together they exited the small cell that was given to him.
“This is going to be hell,” Loki commented when they were about half way to the Throne room.
Frigga smiled at him and shook her head, “It could get worse.” she said offhandedly.
Loki looked down at her and raised a brow, “And pray tell mother. How could it get any worse?”
“You could be marrying one of Odin’s many warriors.”
Loki was silent for a long moment before he nodded slowly, “It could be worse.”
Frigga smiled up at him, before it faded as a thought entered her mind, “Don’t be too hard on Thor.” she said pulling Loki to a halt.
Loki glanced back at his mother and raised a brow at her, “What are you talking about mother?”
Frigga shrugged slightly, “Thor is not to blame for this. He is just against this as you are. So please...don’t be too hard on him. He loves you.”
Loki just continued to stare at her, his expression turning unfathomable. They were at the double doors that lead into the throne room, and Loki finally sighed and shook his head, “It doesn’t matter who’s fault it is mother...and as far as love goes...well...that doesn’t matter either.”
Frigga blinked and looked down at the ground. She could tell that this wedding was going to be a good. Sighing she took a towards the door, and pushed them open. She glanced back at Loki and felt a stab of sadness when she saw his face. Though he hid it well, she could see his fear, betrayal, anger, and sadness. It was a sad sight, and she wanted to run back to him, but she knew her son would not take it well. He would once again see it as pity

As far as Asgardian Weddings, this one was very, very mellow. Especially since Thor was the prince. His wedding should have been big, and flashy, and extravagant. It was suppose to be a big celebration. But Thor and Odin had both decided that it would be better if they did something more subdued. Though nobody would say anything against either Thor, or Odin’s decision, but it was a rather big disgrace for the crowned prince to marry the young Jotun.
Loki was glad for this small penance, especially as he stepped to the center of the throne room. His shoulders were tense, and his jaw was clenched tightly. He wanted to be out, and away from here, but running would do him no good. He didn’t know where he would go that he eventually wouldn’t be found.
Odin leveled Loki with a frosty glare that Loki gladly returned. It gave him something to do, other than think about his situation. They glared at each other for a long moment before the Allfather pulled his gaze away and nodded to Thor. The blond gave Odin a dark look before walking to the center of the Throne room, and standing beside Loki. He smiled at the younger man in what he assumed was a reasuring gesture, but Loki found it did nothing for him but make this all become more real.
The ceremony was long, and drawn out. Loki found himself getting bored, and zoning out every once in a while. It was the only thing he could do other than listen to the Allfather speak, and as soon as he had stared speaking, Loki realized how much his voice grated on his nerves. A swell of magic filled the room, and then a slight sting on his left ring finger drew Loki’s attention. The younger man lifted his hand and looked down at the finger to see what looked like an intricate ring design that had a small hammer in the center.
Loki felt a twinge of annoyance at the mark, but quickly stuffed it down. It would do him no good to be mad at his brother. Sighing he drew in a long deep breath, and then let it out just as slowly. Thor was watching him worriedly, and when Loki caught his eye he flashed the older man a mirthless smile before looking back up at Odin.
The man quickly finished the ceremony, and Loki realized that while the ceremony had been long, and boring he would have much rather dealt with that then what was coming. Odin glanced to the side, and nodded to a group of sorcerers that had been lurking in the shadows. When they noticed Odin’s nod, the slipped out from their hiding spot, and walked towards Loki, and Thor. Most of the sorcerers Loki knew, and many of them gave him small smiles.
The sorcerers formed a circle around both Thor, and Loki, and the younger man felt the swell of magic around them. So it had started. He listed, as the group started chanting a familiar sounding spell.
Loki tilted his head and listened harder. He was sure he had heard this somewhere...and even if he hadn’t heard them, he had read it somewhere....the question was where?
Suddenly it struck him hard like a blow to the head. His green eyes turned to Odin’s, and he glared viciously at him, “You bastard!” Loki seethed, “How could you? How could you>” He started to take a step towards the throne, but Thor grabbed Loki’s waist and pulled him back against his chest. “Thor!” Loki screamed as he looked back at the older man, “Let me go! Let me go! You don’t understand! You have no idea what he’s doing!” his vision was staring to swim.
“Loki you must calm down!” Thor urged.
“NO!” He cried, “How could you! I hate you! I hate you!” The words were said with so much force, and so much pain that Thor found himself almost losing his grip on the younger man. He didn’t know if the words were directed at him, or at Odin, but just hearing the words was enough to shock Thor. “I hate you!” he sobbed, his voice getting softer, and weaker, “Gods I fucking hate you!”
And then his world went black...

When Loki woke again he was in a large bed. It took a moment for his vision to clear, but when he was able to see clearly he saw the familiar pillars that told him he was in Thor’s room....NO....no this wasn’t just Thor’s room anymore. It was their room.
Sighing softly he raised a hand and ran it over his face. That’s when he noticed the black tattoo on his wrist. Blinking he squinted at it, before rubbing at it viciously with his hand. He had hoped it would fade away into nothing, but the marks stayed firmly in place. The black bands on his arms resembled shackles, and Loki couldn’t help but feel a bit uneasy about them. This was wrong....wasn’t it?
His eyes twitched and closed slowly. He drew in a shaky breath, and let it out slowly. It was done. He could feel the magic inside him, but anytime he tried to reach for it nothing happened. Tears streamed down the sides of his face, and suddenly he felt strong arms around him.
“Loki...Loki are you alright? What’s wrong?” Thor asked sounding frantic.
“No!” Loki moaned, and then his sorrow turned to blind furry, “How could he! HOW COULD HE! That bastard! No!” Too fast for Thor to be able to react Loki jumped out of the be, stumbling across the floor, and falling.
Thor was at his side immediately, picking him up off the floor, his hands gentle, yet firm in their work. “Loki you need to calm down.” He whispered.
“Gods no!” he moaned again, “It’s really happening. He really took it. My power! He took it!”
“Loki” Thor whispered grabbing his face, and forcing the younger man to look at him, “Calm down.”
Loki looked up at him, a tear streaming down his cheek. Thor gave him a small smile, and pressed his lips against Loki’s forehead, “Everything will be alright.” Thor tried to reassure.
Loki shook his head, “No.”
Thor nodded, “Yes.”
Loki sighed, his eyes falling to the ground. “Gods...” He whispered.
Thor pulled Loki into a hug, and ran a hand down the length of Loki’s back. “Come on,” He said softly as he picked Loki up and put him back in the bed, “Sleep. It has been a stressful day for you, and sleep will make you feel a bit better.”
Loki wanted to protest about being carried, and about Thor babying him, but he found he didn’t have the strength anymore. As soon as his head his one of the large pillows he was out.

The next time Loki woke it was because of an feeling. It was an uncomfortable feeling that he sometimes got that didn’t allow him to go back to sleep. He let out a soft huff of annoyance, and looked over at Thor. The man was snoring softly his arms thrown over his stomach. As he stared at Thor it seemed the uncomfortable feeling grew till it seemed to be right under his skin.
He tried to fall back asleep a couple of times, but every time he would doze off a little, he would be woken up by the feeling getting greater. Loki rubbed at his pale skin trying to will the discomfort away, but it was in vain. It only seemed to grow more he focused on it.
After about a half an hour the feeling changed to something more so suddenly it had him gasping. Now the discomfort turned to painful. Pain filled every inch of his being, and he could catch the cry before it slipped from his mouth, and woke Thor.
The man grunted before looking over at Loki, “Are you alright Loki?” He asked as he sat up. When he didn’t get a response he sat up, “What’s wrong?” He gently placed his hand on Loki’s shoulder, rubbing small circles with his thumb.
The moment Thor’s skin made contact with Loki’s shoulder the pain faded away, and pleasure bloomed. A shiver ran down Loki’s spin, and he moaned softly. Gasping he clamped his hands over his mouth and looked at Thor, a blush creeping up his face.
Thor’s eyes widened almost comically, “Loki?” he asked sounding slightly unsure, “Are you alright?”
Loki shook his head, his hand still covering his mouth.
A frantic looked flashed across Thor’s face, “What is it?”
Loki shook his head again, and pushed Thor’s hand off him. As soon as they lost physical contact the pain came rushing back into his limbs. Loki shuddered, and moaned in pain, “What in hel’s name is happening?” he rasped out as another shot of pain jumped up his spine.
Thor placed his hand back on Loki’s shoulder, and smiled softly when the man let out a sigh of relief. The pain ebbed away slowly, and when Loki finally caught his breath he released a soft sigh, “Damn him, “ he cursed angrily, “That spell. He used that damn spell on me.” Loki let out a frustrated snort, “Damn!”
“I’m sorry Loki,” Thor said as he ran a hand down Loki’s back. He had known what the sorcerers had been doing, and he should have told Loki. He should have. He had been preaching to his father about not telling him, and he had gone against his better judgment and not told him. Now he felt horrible for not letting him know.
Loki sighed and shook his head, “You couldn’t have known.” He waved a hand slowly, “Damn man is forcing me to stay close...to you. He is making me stay in Asgard. I don’t have an escape anymore. I have to have physical contact with you or I’ll have to deal with the pain.” He said as he looked at Thor. His brows furrowed slightly when he noticed the look on the other man’s face. He looked truly regretful of something. But what.
“Thor...” Loki asked softly, “What’s wrong.”
“I’m so sorry Loki.” Thor suddenly said earnestly, “I should have told you when I first found out. I am so sorry. Please forgive me.”
Loki stared at the other man for a long moment, not really understanding what he could be talking about. Then it hit him. It hit him like a tone of bricks...like a slap in the face. Thor had known. Thor had known about the spell and hadn’t told Loki. Furry bubbled inside him, and he let out a short gasp.
“You knew?” He asked looking at the other man, “You knew...and you didn’t tell me?”
“I’m sorry!” Thor insisted, “I am. I went against my better judgment. I should have told you!”
Loki looked down at the furs that covered part of his body, “You knew! I can’t believe you fucking know and didn’t even tell me. This is my life everybody is playing with. I would have expected this from Odin. But never, never would I have expected it from you!”
“Loki-“
“I hate you.” The words were said so softly, but they sounded like they had been shouted at him. Thrown at him. Beaten into him.
“What?” he asked his voice tight with emotion.
Loki looked at him. There was no glare on his face. He looked numb. The only emotion came though when he spoke, “You heard me,” He whispered, “I said I hate you.”
“Loki...”
“Don’t you even Thor!” The younger man snapped, “I don’t even want to hear it.”
Again he jumped out of the bed. He quickly got dressed, and ran out of the room. Thor stared after him, his mouth hanging slightly open. When Loki was out of sight he seemed to come back to himself, and jumped out of the bed and ran after him-not caring about his half clothed state. He had to find Loki. But the younger man was much faster, and knew many of the secret passages in the palace, and quickly ran out of sight.
“LOKI!”
-x-
He was exhausted from running, and the pain in his body was becoming overwhelming. His breathing was ragged, and his brow was covered in a light sheen of sweat. Loki was leaning against a wall, his hand clenching his chest tightly. Pain laced through him in waves and he found himself biding his lip against the pain. Blood trickled down his chin, in thick red streams. It hurt so fucking bad!
He let out a soft whimper as the pain increased. Something deep within him begged him to go back to Thor. Have him take away the pain. But the thought of him knowing what had been going to happen to him during the ceremony was just too painful.
He heard the sound of Thor’s footsteps and the sound of him calling for him, and his body seemed to cry out for him, but he would not give in. When Thor’s footsteps faded he pulled his hand away from his mouth. He hadn’t even know he had put it there, but he was glad he did. If he hadn’t he was sure he probably would have called out for Thor.
His body shook violently, and he let out a soft sob. His eyes were squeezed as tightly as they would go as he felt another wave of pain battered at him. He had heard about this spell, and it hadn’t said anything about the pain coming on so suddenly. But then again it hadn’t said anything about the first night. Maybe it was coming on so suddenly because nothing had happened between him and Thor, and in its own way it was trying to urge them to finish the spell.
As soon as the thought hit him, so did another wave of pain hit him. This one was so strong it made spots appear in his vision. A cool sweat beaded his face, and a wave of nausea crept into his stomach, making his body week. He drew in a shuddery breath before his eyes rolled back, and he fell forward, hitting the ground with a thud.
-x-
The pain was gone when he woke up the nest time. His green eyes opened slowly and he let out a soft sigh. He felt a hand running through his hair, and something holding his hand. “Loki,” Frigga breathed beside him.
“Thank god you’re finally awake!” Thor sighed, squeezing his hand affectionately.
Loki jerked his hand away, then cried out when their skin lost contact. Thor immediately grabbed his hand again and clasped it tightly between his own. “Please don’t.” Thor said his voice holding a frantic tone to it.
Loki glared at Thor and tried to pull his hand away again only to have Thor tighten his grip.
“Loki,” Frigga chastise softly, “Please. You can’t do this. Talk to each other. Thor doesn’t want to see you in pain, and I’m sure you don’t want to be in pain. You need to get this figured out. I don’t want to see either of you suffer.” Her voice was tight with anger, and worry. After a moment longer she stood and turned away, “I mean it boys,” She through over her shoulder.
Both men watched her leave before Loki tried to pull away again. Since he wasn’t paying full attention to Loki, the younger man’s hand slipped out of his grip. Loki drew in a deep breath, and cried out softly. Thor reached for him again, but as soon as his hand got close, Loki slapped it away and curled into himself.
“Don’t touch me!” He snapped.
“Loki...”
“I said don’t touch me!” he gasped.
Thor glared and grabbed Loki’s shoulders, and rolled him over. Before Loki could slap him away again, he climbed on top of him, pressing his body down onto Loki’s. A flush covered Loki’s face and he let out a soft moan at the feeling of Thor pressing his body down against his. Even though Loki didn’t want it to, he found that having Thor’s larger body pressed against his felt so right...so soothing.
“I will not stop touching you.” Thor growled, “It seems the only way for you to not be in pain. And I don’t want to see you in so much pain.”
“Get off!”
“NO!” Thor growled again, “I will not get off you until we have a chance to talk.”
