Most of my t-shirts have images or designs on them, so they would make very small balls of yarn.
Still, neat!
Also, the zine had a very cool crocheted baby blanket/afghan thing.

I'm trying to figure out how to use the half a jersey sheet I have left (it got runs) for black tarn.

Oh yeah, plarn! I have the beginnings of a bag made from that.
For the sheet, you may need to take the annoying and slow tactic of cutting one row across, almost to the edge, cutting up, and then across again.... But you will have LOTS of it.
