There's a brief, very loud commotion from somewhere outside the crowd. But when a path opens, it's just Zack walking in. Apparently he just materialized in the middle of a lot of people. For once, that usual grin of his is missing. He looks ready for a fight.

"Oi! Zack, Aerith! Clone guys!" He flashes them a quick grin before looking around. "I'm here. So what's the sitch? What's my role in all of this? Any orders?"

Zax blinks and lets out a short laugh as his alternate arrives. "Not much for subtlety, huh, Zack?" He jerks his head minutely in the direction of Yazoo and Loz. "I think they're waiting to see who else is gonna show up."

[gongaga_pride]

"Hey, I'm dead! Why be sublte if I can't get hurt?" He grins crookedly and laughs for a few moments. "So who else we expecting here? Chocobo Head? Little Miss Shrill Ninja? The General?" He rattles off a few more names, usually of lower-ranked SOLDIERs and a few Shinra employees.

"So... what's up? The Space Thing causing trouble again?"

"I'm pretty sure Cloud's coming. Both of them, I think." Zax crosses his arms, grinning. "You're in the past, Zack, the ninja is an eleven-year-old in Wutai. The General... well, he's not coming, but..."

[silvergates]

"That's because I refuse to be the one to piece his mind back together once all is said and done," Sephiroth remarks dryly from somewhere behind the two young men as she ties her hair back in a ponytail. "In the meantime, might I suggest you keep that energy to yourself? You'll be needing it very shortly."

Zack turns around and almost does a spit take, he's so surprised. "Uh... M-Miss General Person!" He looks like he just got run over by a herd of Chocobos. In short? This is one surprised spook. "Man, do all the generals have this knack of sneaking up on people?"

Zax snickers. He'd been lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Sephi out of the corner of his eye. "They wouldn't be the General if they didn't, now, would they?"

[silvergates]

"'Sir' is more than sufficient." Sephiroth's quietly delighting in his surprise, although she's not about to admit to it. "It comes with the rank."

"Sir. Right, okay, got it!" Zack does his best to recover from the surprise. But that takes a lot of skill, sneaking up on the dead SOLDIER guy. "So! Uh... sir. What's the situation?"

He has to resist the urge to salute. Call it a side-effect of his years in SOLDIER. "Any orders?"

Wait until she starts to whip out the Voice of Command. Zack'll really have a hard time squelching the knee-jerk salute reaction. "None as of yet." She glances towards Yazoo briefly. "Not until I hear from our strategist."

Yazoo holds up one finger. "Not quite yet." He peers down at a map and savagely draws a line on it in a sweeping arc. "Five minutes."
