   Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious - Julie Andrews

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Even though the sound of it is something quite atrocious
If you say it loud enough, you'll always sound precocious

I had to include a song from Mary Poppins, there was no way I could not include it. The movie shaped my childhood in so many ways and it apparently got to the stage where I would play it more than once a day just to hear some of the songs including this one and eventually had to buy another copy of the video. It was my first venture into realising the impulsive, obsessive personality I have nurtured from that age.

I could probably have spelt it before my own name, and considering my name is three letters long with a double e, this would have been quite an achievement.

Julie's voice is on perfect form and how they managed to find so many words to rhyme with this title is completely beyond me. It is pure musical genius and it will take forever to get out of your head after hearing it, no matter how long or soon it is since your last playing. When I think of this movie or see that it is showing on TV it is this song that persuades me to watch it as a seventeen year old because it was my first love. My dad didn't play it constantly like with The Who or my mum with REM - this was my own personal love in music and there will always be that connection I have with it.

If I ever have to look after a child for a friend or my brother (or my own, if that somehow happens) and I find out they have never experienced this I will educate them. Everyone deserves to know this song word-for-word, line-by-line.
