Like A Comet
Blazing 'Cross The Evening Sky
Gone Too Soon
Like A Rainbow
Fading In The Twinkling Of An Eye
Gone Too Soon
Shiny And Sparkly
And Splendidly Bright
Here One Day
Gone One Night
Like The Loss Of Sunlight
On A Cloudy Afternoon
Gone Too Soon
Like A Castle
Built Upon A Sandy Beach
Gone Too Soon
Like A Perfect Flower
That Is Just Beyond Your Reach
Gone Too Soon
Born To Amuse, To Inspire, To Delight
Here One Day
Gone One Night
Like A Sunset
Dying With The Rising Of The Moon
Gone Too Soon
Gone Too Soon
*I don't care what anyone says about this man. He was more than an entertainer. He's an inspiration to artists everywhere. With his innovative dance moves, awesome vocals, and outstanding music video concepts and shorts, he inspires. His songs moved people, both emotionally and physically. His concerts sold out; people were in tears no matter how far away they were standing. Without him, a lot of pop music wouldn't exist. Without him, dancing would be just a little bit more simple. I remember staying up too late (and getting in trouble, mind you) to watch MTV and VH1 because they were showing
Moonwalker,
Live in Bucharest, and
Thriller. I remember watching the making of for "Thriller" (and numerous other music videos) and thinking "This is amazing." I was raised on him (as well as others, duh), and I will tell my kids and my kids kids about him and what difference he made in my life both musically and emotionally. I mimicked his dance moves, and learned to dance; he taught me. I sang along with his tapes, and knew how to sing. I admire him so much, and I never lost faith and hope for him. My best friend Venescha chose the Werewolf from Thriller for her make-up final (and did a fucking amazing job, by the way). I was her model. I was fucking STOKED. Because. It's fucking MJ. I sat in a restaurant tonight, watching MTV and seeing all of his old videos and remember how bad I wanted to BE HIM. I wanted every costume, learned every dance move, sang every note around the house until my parents told me to stfu.
He is truly a legend and will never be forgotten. My heart and thoughts are with his family and his friends in their time of mourning, as well as his fans across the entire world who are devastated by the loss of such a mindblowing figure of entertainment. This isn't just national. World fucking wide.
Rest in Peace, Michael.
My best friend Diana said it best:
"He isn't dead. He just went home."
There's no pain where he is.
Come to think of it, Heaven isn't sounding so bad with the amount of amazing people up there.
Also, RIP Farrah Fawcett. You will never be forgotten. You battled long and hard, and like I said: There's no pain where you are.
♥
It all sounds so dramatic, but it's all true.
