Ah, Pairings! And disobedient muses!
Dear ancestors above, my muse is a slut. All it does is squee over the most ridiculous pairings, happily betraying my OTP. At this point, I don't have a list of my favorite pairings, I have a list of pairings that I -know- will never attract me. -smacks muse-
(I mean, Ronon/Elizabeth? McKay/Sheppard? WHY? Why must you stray from The One True Pairing? -beats muse into floor-)
Still, sparky is on top of the list of ships I do like, so maybe Miss. Muse is just acting up...
THE LIST OF SHIPS THAT SHALL NEVER ATTRACT ME (and if they ever do, you know it's the apocalypse):
-Sheppard/Teyla (thank the Ancients for small favors)
-Keller/Ronon (it's not even the pairing itself, just the fact that TPTB are pushing it totally turns me off)
-McKay/Carter (SAMANTHA! HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND??? YOU. LOVE. JACK!!!)
-All slash pairings except for McShep and Lorne/Parish (because come on, that's just funny. We saw them together in a what, two minute long scene? And there were already communities and fans supporting it the next day! My fandom is so awesome...)
Sadly, the first three are all the ships that TPTB seem to be pushing. -sob-
You know, I used to think that the people who went against Sam/Jack were just nuts. I remember reading threads on GateWorld where the anti-Sam/Jack people moaned about how TPTB were shoving the pairing down their throats. I was like, "So? It's an okay pairing."
Now, I sympathize. I FEEL THEIR PAIN.
Anyway... time to veer completely off-topic. (Well, not completely, but whatever.) Apparently my fellow Sparky lovers have decided to do the impossible and write 366 sparky stories! One for every day of 2008! Wow, pretty cool. I might even join them, but I have -way- too much on my plate right now. Ugh. -winces-
As for that threesome... it seems to be shaping up nicely. It's turning out rather long, too. Hmm. I never thought I'd have so much fun writing a crazy triangle-relationship thing... but I am. I wonder what that says about me...
Also - why do all Elizabeth/Ronon fics revolve around smut?!? Here I am, searching for a good ER fic that will appease my strange multi-pairing appetite, and all I get is smut! (NC-17 stuff, too! AHH! -runs away screaming-) It's the same with practically -all- the threesomes I've read. Granted, I haven't read many, but still. C'mon, people, give me some angsty-fluffy relationship building, not wild wanton sex!
Whew. Well, I think that's it. And, I've broken my resolutions already - spent waaay too much time on the internet today. Oh, well. There's always tomorrow, right?
