I think I watched the first episode of BSG, but I found it too depressing. :P
Ohhh, totally, I did too- I was fully into SG-1 and SGA at the time and thought 'well, why would I want to immerse myself in the depressiveness of this universe when I can have the fun and playfulness and bonding and affection of the Stargate universe?' That is one of BSG's main problems- it's so eager to be serious and 'realistic' that it forgets to develop a sense of humor. Farscape was all gloom and doom and tragedy but it had a sense of humor, that show proved it can be done and BSG failed to take up the challenge. *sighs*
Anyway, when I was secure in my fandom love and my ships, I was fine. But then they wrote Weir out of SGA, SG-1 finally ended, and I was left without a direction, without a cause, nothing to keep me afloat with fangirly flail and squee- then bloody SAPPH changed her moodtheme and I saw this one of Adama and Roslin being all tender and affectionate with each other and she explained the complexities of their relationship- basically, totally in love but with a million obstacles in the way of expressing it...I went out the next day and bought two dvd sets of the show, lol. I was that desperate. XP
Strangely, I've been getting attacked with ideas for original stories now... not sure what to do with them
Oooh, original ideas? That's dangerous. ;) Write 'em up and post on LJ for all of us to enjoy! Nah, kidding, no pressure. I know a few fanfic writers who are fighting an inner war against original fics too. It's a damn waste but you can't win against your muse if she's stuck on you going down one particular path, I guess.
