I’m late with everything these days lol but here I am, have been dying to read this! I love the way it opens up, the directness of the intro that also reflected in the way Pep speaks, he seems epic. And lol at him having trained Wenger to ahahaha, somehow it actually works despite (or perhaps because of) the rl situation…
Really cesc, trying to attack pep when he’ unaware? And the “in real life” bit, ahahaha I loved that, Pep’s reaction, everything.
‘his long robes flowing behind him like the wings of a great bald eagle.’ asdasfkldsgdgf how did you come up with this it’s perfect!
Cesc’s breakdown was so intense, I love how fierce/ruthless Pep is. Loved the part about him training Cesc harder than others out of respect for Arsene, and how his little speech was enough to counter all Cesc’s rage and set him back to the task.
Oh my God and then he gets a crush on Pep. The whole scene with Cesc watching Pep in the water was so good, loved the description. Then Cesc’s complete adoration and desire to please him in any minimal way - the spirituality of it was awesome. And his crush makes him improve, awwwww.
“It's good that your opinion doesn't really count, then.” I die, Pep’s character is so well done, I simply love him in this.
I really like the plot jump 16 years forward with Cesc returning to see Pep, how it emphasizes that even after all those years, and the fullness of the life he lived Pep was never forgotten. It highlights the extent of the influence Pep had on him and it’s believable because as I said, Pep’s character is stunning here.
I must say the way Cesc found Pep came as a surprise - after all, he was illustrated as the epitome of strength, but at the same time it fits, especially given the element of mystery surrounding his age - that was so good. I’m glad Cesc finally found peace surrounding his feelings for Pep, at the end there. Being Pep’s most favored student, and finally hearing his strict master voice his feelings for him would’ve meant a lot. And once we realize that Pep had loved him all that time, it makes the strength/command of his character that much more impressing… idk what to say, he’s just awesome in this.
Loved the tone of the story throughout, everything was so fitting. Thanks endlessly hun, this was gorgeous, you’re amazing! :***
yayyy, i am super glad that you liked this. :-))) it was a little bit unconventional, even for me and deffo not your average love story.
Arsenal copies Barca's style so it makes sense to make Arsene Pep's apprentice haha
i think this fic is tell-all about how i feel and think about Pep. he's epic, but a tyrant at the same time. most of the tutelage scenes are from Kill Bill, but the crush and the Pep-in-water scene are all mine and basically the hardest to write.
the ending with Pep dying is an exact ripoff Star Wars Yoda death bed scene. i thought it'd be fitting lol
again, glad you liked it, :DD hope you had a rocking bday and got lots of great presents. :-****
